"Diversity" is code word for putting enough women and POC in they back office that they meet their quota.
Front office it's still all about preftige.
Juniors pretty diverse. Diversity dies young. VP and up essentially no diversity.
I think females put up with much less bullshit and so by the time they are at a VP level, we say ✌🏻 !
So where did the junior go
50/50 gender split up through VP, large majority are white. Beyond VP, all white guys. Group of about ~60 or so within my team
When I was an analyst at MoCo we had a decent number of girl analysts but just one associate
Major sausagefest at my fund except for two quants and our admins
I am at a MM and I am the only female in the group
Trying to hire as many women as we can... analyst intake is around 40% women currently. But harder to keep women in this job in the longer run unfortunately - mostly due to personal choice in my experience
