Interested in getting others perspective here. Senior consultant but received an offer in healthcare industry for more money and an upgraded title. TC for the offer is about a 25% increase, with the base being higher than my current TC. Currently working on a high profile client and have a decent chance of being promoted to manager next year but will probably go through hell this year to get it and it’s not a sure thing. Should I take the money and run?
“Per diem” meal expenses are EXPLOITATION. $50 is not enough for a single meal at a hotel restaurant, let alone an entire DAY for food. Shifting travel costs onto your employees = evil. Yes i mad :<
Why don't the insurance companies just say we won't pay for your care if you get covid and could have been vaccinated?
A CRO offerred me an internal consulting/biz dev role. They offered 145k TC (20% bump) and slightly better benefits. They also offered accelerated path (6mo to 1yr) to MC. While promotion to MC at my current company is at least 1 year away. The job is interesting to me and fits my careery goal. But my big concern is that I've only been with my current company for a year (this is my first job, post PhD). Would this affect my resume in the future in terms of being viewed as "job hopping"?
Thoughts on Razorfish Health NYC? Or switching to health in general? I'm moving to NYC and looking to switch jobs (currently working remote for a Chicago agency). RFH just reached out about an opportunity. My one hang up is switching over to health. I've worked for 5 years on a brand I legally can't put in my book; I feel like health may be equally stunting to my portfolio. I went from portfolio school to my current job.
Tricare insurance claims auditors. Who are they? Who are they accountable to? I am fighting some claims against them.
9 years in and I am finding my work performance has been declining for about a year now, and especially the last few months. I am taking longer to complete tasks, making more mistakes, and having so much more trouble focusing and staying on task. Have been WFH since March 2020, not seeing anyone outside of my immediate family and generally more anxious than usual, so I’m wondering if this is all mental health related. Can anyone relate? Any advice?
What do unemployment benefits look like now? 450/week plus an additional 600/wk if it’s covid related? Is it taxed as income?
Hi all. Does anyone has any feedback what it's like to work at Fingerpaint? Wondering on culture, benefits, time off, atmosphere. Thank you in advance
When considering leaving a firm because of its negative impact on your mental health, how long did you wait before leaving? Follow up question: when interviewing at new places, how do you professionally explain you left because of how badly it was affecting your mental health without bad mouthing the firm?
Has anyone taken one of those online executive courses, like the Harvard Extension School offers? Looking to use my $5k of tuition reimbursement and already have an MBA. Worth it? Best programs?
My former company is being acquired and is making me rollover my Roth 401K to my new company’s 401K or to an IRA. Any advice?
Do you spend your entire per diem? Or do you prefer low-cost food options (chipotle for example) and save the rest of the per diem?
Would you rather travel every week or have a 90 minute commute to a local client client without any per diem or travel points???
Switched birth controls due to change of insurance. I get so bloated the week before my period now. Like I used to get a little bloated before, but this is INTENSE. Any recommendations? TIA
This might be a dumb question (and I’m fine if anyone thinks so) but should I withdraw all 401k and do a cash out mortgage refi to pay off almost all of my $200k federal student loan debt?
Best resources to learn about financial planning? I’ve been allocating a portion of my income towards 401k and some mutual funds, but want to become more knowledgeable (considering major future expenses such as house, kids, etc). Any recommendations on resources would be greatly appreciated!
Any insight into Jackson Lewis? Especially the smaller offices? Do Associates generally get promoted to Partner? Do they match 401K contributions? Quality of life? PTO?
Tips for how you’re accumulating wealth with absolutely no financial inheritance/intelligence from parents? I want to retire early but am late in the investments game. I have a Roth IRA invested in a target date fund, max out my HSA and invest in REITS and ETFS, and contribute more to 401k when I have leftover $$. What do you guys do? Am i missing any smart moves here?
Heading into benefits open enrollment and beginning to receive current provider renewal percentage increases (medical and dental) as well as market offers from other providers. Curious what other employers have experienced and hoping to receive successful negotiating techniques. My company is too small to receive claims experience data from the provider. What % increase did you see for a small to mid size company?
Do you think it's an interview red flag if admin tell you not to accept the offer if you're going to quit mid-year? 🤔
I'm a 2nd year ID lit associate. Long term career goal is to be a partner/have ownership stake at the firm I work for. I received an offer from a class action/employment firm for 145k, no billing req but expectation is between 1700 and 1900. Current firm will match but my billing requirement would be 2050 hours. They offered to allow me to supervise another associate, and I'll get a raise for each additional associate I supervise. Managerial experience worth the extra hours?
What monitor would you recommend for WFH situation assuming a IB/fund role? Know there is disagreement whether one wider monitor is better than dual smaller ones so would love to hear both perspectives. Some wider ones that have been recommended to me were Dell Ultrasharp 34 curved USB-C and Samsung Ultrawide 34
Hey fish! Have a question on work authorization. If I have an H1B and wife’s on the dependent EAD (after I-140) and I go out of country to work with same company. Does her EAD still continue to be valid? Or does it invalidate the moment the primary visa holder is out of the US.
Let’s talk office set ups. I am looking at a Uplift standing desk as my big splurge because I have back issues, and the room I work in has horrible lighting so I’m considering some sort of selfie light ring type thing that I can clip to my monitor. Anyone have feedback on either the desk or a light they like, or any other ergo friendly home office hacks you’ve found helpful?
So got client dilema: Did business case last year. Erased data. Now clients wants to pursue. New business case I rebuilt doesnt match at all. Current upside is 25% of prior year. I am pretty sure I made a mistake last year Do I present the new case, do I play crazy? Do I quit the firm in shame and move to south america? What would you do?
Any insight as to the DC market for litigation mid levels? Coming from out of town, but hearing the opportunities are far slimmer than a transactional role
Thinking about jumping ship. Is there a downside to applying to other consulting firms? Also with only 1 year experience is that a bad look / hard sell?
Sick and tired of seniors saying “it’s really easy” when they forget we haven’t seen this before and giving zero explanation when you ask a question lol thanks guys 🤷♀️
How do you know if your interview went well? I’m moving along but I felt like most conversations the interviewer spent most of the time speaking about themselves.
Any Salesforce AEs here? Applying/looking, and curious if there is a “preferred” business unit to sell to? They are obviously different industry sectors, just curious WLB/happiness levels and salary differences A few options below: Insurance Marketing Cloud Data & Identity Manufacturing Retail
I am hiring in Accenture Technology for both RPA developers and DevOps Engineers in the US. Location flexible, remote opportunities available, ideally 1-4 years of experience. Feel free to ask questions here or DM if interested! Looking to fill ASAP.
How do you prepare for case interviews with industry companies? I imagine the best way to understand their background is looking at the platform, their monetization strategies, earnings reports etc etc. What kind of possible questions could be asked in the case scenario?
Today is my first day back at work (and first full day back in my physical office) after a few weeks off for parental leave. Needless to say, I am struggling to stay focused on anything other than wanting to go back home to my spouse and child. I know I shouldn't take an emotional temperature on day one, but it has been more difficult being back than I anticipated. Any tips for navigating the waters for the first day/week/month back?
I'm currently a TVC at Google and was contacted by a Google recruiter who didn't realize that I'm currently working at Google. When I told her about my current role, she said she's not sure if I can be considered and has been non responsive on my follow ups. What exactly is the policy in this case? Would my applications for a FTE role be simply not considered too?
Interviewing at two companies. Company A I’m already at the Partner interview next week. Company B first interview is next week. Problem is company B is totally my preference. I feel confident I’d get it but I can’t be 100% sure. What have you guys done in scenarios where you have multiple offers landing at staggered times? I don’t want to resign for a competitor only to join a different firm in the end - feels like it makes me look confused and unreliable.
