I am pro your body, your choice on all fronts and don’t believe anyone should be mandated to get the vaccine. HOWEVER you cannot lie about your status or travel destinations. You just can’t.

Part of the hypocrisy with vaccine requirements is that you can test positive for the virus and still be allowed entry into places. But in Djokovic’s situation, part of the problem is that the Australian Open organizers made a mistake when communicating the requirements to enter Austrialia when it came to proof of recovery in lieu of being vaccinated. As a result, Djokovic thought he would be allowed in when in reality he shouldn’t have been. And given how heavy-handed Australia is with lockdowns/restrictions, giving Djokovic an exemption would have made people livid.

I’m not saying it’s any better but don’t distort facts. It’s why people don’t believe Covid is a real illness because everyone makes sh*t up.
I understand that all triple jabbed folks aren’t going to like this post . So be it .

He already had Covid. Anyone opposed to him playing looks like a complete fool. History will judge them poorly.

🤦🙄
You can't enter the country with Covid, you have to quarantine for 1-2 weeks

1. Australia requires that you be vaccinated to enter. If you show up unvaccinated you shouldn’t expect to be let in. 2. There are question marks over whether the COVID test he used was valid. 3. If you accept that the test was valid, then it was an inexcusable thing for him to go to public events having tested positive. His positive test was registered on the 16th, and he attended public events unmasked on the 17th and partially masked on the 18th.

Recent COVID recovery is not a valid reason for a COVID exemption for entry to Australia. It is one for the state of Victoria (primarily to facilitate interstate travel), but it’s not for the country. Tennis Australia were notified of this in November as well. The Australian government were very clear actually. It’s unfortunate that the first court decision overturned his entry ban on a technicality - as that just dragged out the entire saga for another week. However, he didn’t meet the entry requirement - that’s the basic fact.

Its wild how flimsy conservative beliefs are. Djokovic lied on his visa application to get into a foreign country yet some how he is now a rightwing hero.... https://apnews.com/article/immigration-coronavirus-pandemic-novak-djokovic-sports-health-591c103de643abc147b0fb7e2703afc2
