I think it's great that firms have their own names for stuff. I just find it ignorant when people stress on sticking to the same words when they know their talking to a neutral audience/ someone from another firm. The same goes for people on this app who make up acronyms for everything --- part of communication is making it easy for the audience.

My mid/small size firm allows us to take 2 weeks off, upon approval. I requested a day off for a family event a week in advance and this was approved by the partners I work for. One of the partners called me on the day off for some “emergency” work that I told her I couldn’t do until later that night because I was with family. When I came back to the office I was yelled at for not being able to work on my day off. Has this ever happened to anyone else or am I the only one?
