Hello Partners, need some advice. Me 20 yoe, MBA & MS from t20, was a senior manager (associate partner) at B4 for 6 years, in an internal role (e.g EY CBS/ PWC IFS etc) and didn't have a path to partnership, so left b4 & joined large tech (eg. oracle, IBM, Microsoft etc), at a senior director level. Was there for a few years, and now joined FAANG recently in an IC role. $450K TC. I still can't stop thinking about becoming a Partner at B4 or MBB. In mid-40s. Is the PPMD grass greener than FAANG

No free wifi in hotel...can I expense it?
I have been at PwC for a couple years and I was on vacation in Europe and ran up like 400 dollars in data charges on my work phone. Never heard a peep from anyone, nor have I ever heard of anyone, like, going over or something. I think your friend is good.
We get to upgrade our phone every year at a discounted price and never even have to deal with phone bill.
When I was at PwC, I took vacation abroad and used my PwC phone A LOT to call and to post on Instagram. The bill was huge. PwC paid for it. But they did send me an email to ask me to watch my usage next time.
Deloitte used to have unlimited data (I think both domestic and abroad) but now there is a corporate share plan on data where they allot you 1Gb, but since it's shared data, it's nbd if one goes over that. I've had colleagues get nasty grams for hitting more than 7gb though (why they used that much data no one knows)
7gb is nothing
I use about 20GB a month at PwC and have never gotten any emails or notifications for an overage. I know some of my coworkers who live in areas with excellent LTE coverage actually use their phone's hotspots as their Internet services at home...
We don't get work phones at EY. They instead pay for your phone bill. Staff get $75 and it goes up with each promotion
Well that kinda sucks. Speaking for a friend
I don't mind because I get $100/month as a senior to pay bills
@PwC1 that's been my experience too. I heard that the others aren't quite as... Liberal?
I never had any issues but got a nastygram I was exceeding data a few months ago. My three year old downloaded a bunch of movies on Amazon while we were on a 4 hour road trip. Oops.
