Do any firms hire seasonal tax review help (individual tax)? Currently work in Big 4 and looking for less hours and stress overall.

EY does. Google EY Gignow and you’ll find more info on opps.

Yes, Big Four will also hire seasonals.

like

Turbotax

I don’t think they pay much

Lots of firms do this. There are definitely opportunities at like the H&R Block’s, TurboTax, etc. but a lot of the small places do it too. If you see a place you like you should definitely reach out and see, can’t hurt to try.

pwc has seasonal talent network. tons of national firms as well. dont need to work at h&r block to do this

Our local firm does this

If I like public accounting but just don’t like the B4 environment and hours, does it make sense to move to a smaller regional firm? Would be looking to switch from audit to a more niche service line. Part of me is scared about losing better exit opportunities after downsizing, but I’m kind of tired of being worn out by work all of the time. Anyone do this? I see mostly B4 to B4 jumps at the senior level these days, so don’t know if there’s something I’m missing.

Can someone please enlighten me on why someone higher up, ie: group CD, CEO, etc. would want to interview with someone like me, a mid-level copywriter? Just wondering what they're looking for, especially if I've already interviewed with the CD. Are they just trying to see if my personality would match the environment and culture?

For those of you who are in-house, how did you get comfortable with needing to be more of a generalist? I know some in-house roles, especially at large companies, are specialized. I’m tired of billable hours, but I really love (& feel more comfortable) being a specialist.

Fellow 🐠 in MBB - there is a belief in a few consultants that being a part of MBB is the main goal at any cost.
