I started seeing a therapist and started medication as well - made a huge difference! Also, we are living in very heavy times. Don’t underestimate the effects of that on top of the difficulty and stressors of parenting. It is understandable to not be ok and I’m glad you’ve reached out for help!
…Would be okay. I’ve had 3 so far. I don’t what is going on with me. It breaks my heart to not have the energy to play with my son. I just want to stay busy all day to not think and when he takes his naps I just want him to be up so I have a distraction. How do you moms that cope with depression deal with all the emotions and still keep up with your babies?
Depression manifests in all kinds of ways but consider stress. Everything you describe is what happens when I am faced with a high stress situation at work (could be home for some). Continue with therapy and do small steps like make some healthy meals for you and your kid to eat together. That already is quality time parenting. Remember that this too shall pass - just put one foot before the other and get the help you need
I am proud of you for seeking help. These times are tough. Ask your therapist is it time for meds. I had to start taking something to sleep with. I just could not turn my mind off at night. It has helped a lot
Get your thyroid tested. I was feeling the same way and it turned out I had postpartum hypothyroidism. It’s self resolving in most cases but a synthetic hormone helps to ease the symptoms.
