Do any of you do trachs on COVID 19 positive pts? We have several patients that have been on vent for 20 plus days. Are there clinical guidelines around trachs for COVID patients?

Our institution said no trachs on any CoVID19 patients. If they can’t wean off after 3 weeks they’re likely not going to make it.

Please help. My husband works in construction and has been for 20+ years. He worked as a construction manager for a very small company last year where the owner was a terrible human being and completely tarnished his perception of that role though other companies would be bette. Physically working as the contractor daily basis wreaks havoc on his body; he’s 6’4” and 300 lbs. He says he’d rather be in physical pain than mental pain. Any ideas how to encourage him to try it again/another job?

I have an H1b which I received in 2019 and was valid till august2021, due to covid I wasn't able to travel and then I switched to another firm last year in November. If I get visa transfer, will it provide me a validity back as I haven't used any on site time on that visa.

TIA

I am bored out of my ever loving mind. No heavy incentive to look for work just yet due to COVID in my area + I’m not really sure what position to even look for since I don’t want to go back into PA. You can only scroll through social media and news so many hours of the day. I’ve cleaned. I’ve FT dated. I’ve read. And read. And read. I’ve done the self makeover/reflection thing. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Has anyone been pressured to travel during the pandemic? I had an awkward exchange with a supervising attorney who wants to protect a client relationship from our outside trial counsel who happens to be my mentor and someone that my supervising attorney trusts more than most. “Travel” means flying to a state with rising COVID cases (17% positivity rate and rising) to be in the room for client’s deposition. Nothing has been finalized given supervising attorney tabled when I pushed back.

Hey friends, since we have a lot of new joiners to the group I thought maybe we should share any advice we got/wished we got when we started our journeys.
Mine are:
1) a good diet changes how you perform at the gym and is key for aesthetics
2) master the form of your exercise. Form > weight always
3) Follow a structured program. The worst structured program will have more benefits than no structure
4) consistency > perfection
5) listen to your body
6) have fun with your exercise!

So kind of gross post but I am fu*king terrified of getting an std. my friend works at a women’s health center and tells me it’s crazy how common stds are, like people would be shocked. Also heard horror stories from my friends/parents about people they know who had the same partner since HS and then broke up, slept with another person once and BAM gential warts for life. I am so afraid that I’m 24 and haven’t ever had sex. Does anyone else have this fear?
