Do any of you know anything about the Aldi District Manager program? I've been in PA for almost two years and am thinking about changing careers. Any thoughts?

You want to go work as a district manager for a discount grocery store? I think it is harder to get that job then you would think!

I have heard the hours are worse than they are in PA and there is no drop off during the year.

Everyone hates being a staff. All of the things I do every day are exactly what you say you are interested in. What does someone in the Aldi role get to do in 10 years? I am 10 years in make good money (better if I left obviously) and get to do those things. Don't give up.

Yea my charge hour goal is 1850 hours but I'm expected to be available all the time and the firm owns me. However I make my own schedule and decide when to go in / what I need to do. My job is technical in the sense of diagnosing issues but not detailed work myself more reviews.

And you have confirmation that you're being promoted? Because "they told me I'm making senior in 2 years" is a hell of a lot different than "I actually made senior in 2 years"

See if you can get into the Advisory practice. Use your technical, project management, sales skills each day

I actually was in the running for that program in college and turned it down for public accounting. I have a degree in Accounting + Management & Human Resources

Or any other suggestions on a career in something along those lines but maybe using a little bit of my PA background?

In all honesty I like my job in public, but I feel like I have skills that I'll never be able to use. I'm very interested and good at sales, negotiation, management, etc. I'm on the fast track to senior but my job isn't as fulfilling as I'd like.

@ASM1 Thanks for the reply. It's reassuring to know that. Does you job also get a bit less technical? I know that charge hours go down and you're doing higher level tasks, so I'm assuming that's less draining?

Fast track to senior? Lmao what even is that

@PWC3 at my firm it's typically 3 years before making senior and I'm making it in two

Should I remove my education date range from my resume ? I’s a bachelors degree from a decent school (non - ivy). I have 5 YOE and just made manager. I want to begin applying to other jobs but don’t want my age (27) hurt me when applying. It becomes evident when they see I graduated undergrad in 2015.

We had planned to go to NYC from CA for 3 days week of thanksgiving. Just me & husband, not planning to meet people but wanted to enjoy colder weather and eat good food. However , COVID is spiking again & there are some “voluntary” quarantine requirements. Can anyone from NYC please describe what it’s really like & whether we should cancel our plans even if we plan to travel safely?
