Do any of you know anything about the Aldi District Manager program? I've been in PA for almost two years and am thinking about changing careers. Any thoughts?

You want to go work as a district manager for a discount grocery store? I think it is harder to get that job then you would think!

I have heard the hours are worse than they are in PA and there is no drop off during the year.

Everyone hates being a staff. All of the things I do every day are exactly what you say you are interested in. What does someone in the Aldi role get to do in 10 years? I am 10 years in make good money (better if I left obviously) and get to do those things. Don't give up.

Yea my charge hour goal is 1850 hours but I'm expected to be available all the time and the firm owns me. However I make my own schedule and decide when to go in / what I need to do. My job is technical in the sense of diagnosing issues but not detailed work myself more reviews.

And you have confirmation that you're being promoted? Because "they told me I'm making senior in 2 years" is a hell of a lot different than "I actually made senior in 2 years"

I actually was in the running for that program in college and turned it down for public accounting. I have a degree in Accounting + Management & Human Resources

Or any other suggestions on a career in something along those lines but maybe using a little bit of my PA background?

In all honesty I like my job in public, but I feel like I have skills that I'll never be able to use. I'm very interested and good at sales, negotiation, management, etc. I'm on the fast track to senior but my job isn't as fulfilling as I'd like.

@ASM1 Thanks for the reply. It's reassuring to know that. Does you job also get a bit less technical? I know that charge hours go down and you're doing higher level tasks, so I'm assuming that's less draining?

Fast track to senior? Lmao what even is that

@PWC3 at my firm it's typically 3 years before making senior and I'm making it in two

Does anybody struggle with the weekend cycle when it comes to eating? For me, I eat perfectly during the week. Low calorie, lots of healthy food, no overeating, no takeout. But come Friday through Sunday, I eat out and ruin all the hard work I put in during the week. The result is that I lose a few pounds during the week and then gain them right back over the weekend, and the cycle just endlessly repeats. Anyone have any good tips for breaking this cycle?

Hit 40. Work stress and pandemic stuff has contributed to 20lb weight gain. Having trouble getting motivated and exercise does not help. I don’t eat bad but definitely indulge in food for high stress. What tips do all you ladies have? 😌 TIA

It’s been 3 year since my ex and I broke up. We see each other from time to time with little interaction or conversation. The fact is that we have to cross paths for pretty much the rest of my life. My feelings about her were either annoyed and resentful. Those feelings lastedup until about a week ago. Since that point last week I have had a cloud of dread and a sense of sadness as if I missed her. Why out of no where does Thaifeeling come about? Has anyone on here experienced somethin similar?
