Do any other firms allow staff to use parental leave intermittently? PwC currently offers 8 wks of paid parental leave for a single child and the time can be used in a block, intermittently or a mix.

KPMG does. Have had a team member working two days a week and and off the rest. Got a couple extra weeks from just taking it all straight.

like

Ey does

But at least in a one week increment.

I did it both ways. First kid I took it all at once. Second kid I worked a reduced week to make it “last longer.” I preferred the latter.

KPMG offers more paid parental leave if taken in a block? Hopefully not tied to “primary caregiver” since that’s a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Deloitte allows all at once or broken up in at least 3 day increments within 12 months of the birth

At EY, you can only take one at a time as it relates to New York. So if you want to you can take all 16 weeks paid by EY, and take the Family Leave time that New York pays for, but you can not take them at the same time (and get paid twice). In New York, the maximum amount is lower than salary, so I don't believe many people have used it who are also EY employees.

Guidehouse does but when you opt for intermittent leave, your days available are reduced by 50%

I & My girl friend can’t stop fighting for few weeks. We decided to take a little break being away from each other. Stayed away for sometime, we reconciled and on the very first date she told me that she is pregnant through donor insemination. She never told me anything about this plan. How should I react? Breakup? Feeling terrible thinking about breaking up when she is pregnant, but I’m not ready for a baby.

First time Dad and my 15 month old keeps running up the stairs at my in-laws place and they keep encouraging it. Stairs are almost 10 inches high with nothing underneath and I’m worried that he might slip and fall in between the stairs. My FIL is a bit of a know-it-all and keeps insisting it’s safe and I don’t agree. What do I do? Don’t want to fight the entire house full of people about this and kid enjoys it too much and cries a lot if I/we prevent him from climbing

Neither my husband nor I are good with change and when my husband and I went for the ultrasound he nervously asked "she's too sick to eat anything other than her vitamins and water, is it ok for her and the baby to go without?" Our doctor just smiled and replied "don't worry, baby takes" I don't know why but that was so funny to us. It kind of became our mantra as we navigate and move our life around that "baby takes," its made it feel more Us vs Change rather than Me vs Him. Thought I'd share

In a nut shell, we had baby #1 without trying. Started trying for #2 and over 2 years, I had 4 miscarriages and 2 ectopics. In July, my doc informed me that the only way forward was through IVF. I was tired and confused. I PRAYED! and continued trying. (The rest in the comments.)

I want to brag on my kid, but I don’t want to embarrass him, so I’m doing it here. My college sophomore found out today that he ended up with a B in his accounting class - which is remarkable, given that he received a 50 on his first exam and a 70 on his second. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him work this hard - and I couldn’t be more proud. The grades that come easily don’t impress me nearly as much as the ones that are hard fought.

Then just stop eating like a complete child on holiday after those are done 😅 any advice on what helped you get past the cravings and level set would be helpful! Everything is fine from my Capgemini manager and client manager. Only i am expecting HR Call and that will happen next week as my manager said. Any suggestion what will be next CTC ? Thanks All

Hello,
I’m a junior data scientist and in my current job I mostly code using Pyspark (no machine learning) so I would like to work on a side project that could leverage my profile and data science/ML skills. I’m overwhelmed by the many suggestions online and would prefer to get a suggestion directly from professionals.
PS : I’m not a beginner.
