Do any PA firms allow you to bring pets (specifically dogs) to the office? I don't have a dog but it seems all my coworkers do and I just want to pet dogs at work sometimes 🥺

If you have a service dog, most certainly. Other pets, no. It's an excellent idea and one I wish more companies would adopt.

helpful

Yes, a regional firm in SoCal HCVT allows dogs in the office, but usually only managers bring their dogs because they have private offices

We had 1 service dog on our floor before.

Theres a classification called 'emotional support animal'. It doesn't have to be a service dog but you have to get the dog certified as an ESA. Very few people know about this but your employer is not allowed to refuse ESA'.

Well that ruined any hope I had

I’ve only seen it at my clients offices. Sometimes it’s laid back and dogs wander around. Other times it’s strict and dogs have special collars and lots of rules

Anybody have any resources/tools/exercises they can suggest to help with understanding strategy (i.e., high level thinking)? Nowadays a lot of my day-to-day involves strategic thinking and I’m more of a “in the weeds” kind of dude. It’s been challenging to see the bigger picture. Need to start thinking outside the circle and not so much about what’s inside. I’m fact, I want to start thinking that it might not be a circle at all.

I started working for a solo-preneur (so it's just us two) last year and after several very open and honest conversations about workload capacity and boundaries re: my schedule, I don't think I can see myself here long-term. However, I feel really bad because of the timing (there would never be a good time for me to be replaced) and what I would be doing to the owner (pushing back their personal and company goals). Do any other "feelers" out there have any advice on how to approach this?

Hello Folks,

My Current co offered me a salary below the market range and I have got it to their notice but finding tough luck in asking them to give me the industry standard range..

I am exploring new roles and when I tell new co abt my expected salary (as per current market standards) they find excuses to not consider the bump and say “ Oh we can give from your current sal “ any tips on how to negotiate and match my pay (as per industry standards) as I don’t want to be underpaid..

Thanks!

Need some career advice because I’m at a standstill. Right now I’m the senior (only) internal auditor at a medium sized public hospital. I mostly do compliance audits and I want out. I’m a CPA but made every wrong career move, I went into an OIG straight out of college, never did public accounting. Now I think I have to before it’s truly too late, it may already be too late, not sure but I’m pushing 30, married and have a kid due in 4 months. What am I even qualified for? I need to make a change

I started at a new firm this year in January. I had a billable goal that was given to me mid year of around 1750 house for the year. I am nowhere near that and definitely will not meet the goal. I had so many non billable hours I was forced to take when I first came in. I worked my ass off in busy season. At my previous firm I never fell short of hours as it was B4. This firm is mid sized and more focused on WLB. My question is how bad do you think this will affect my comp??
