Do any women tax accountants here wear skirts to the office? If so, do you wear them with pantyhose?

Yes to skirts, but no to pantyhose.

When I was 25 I used to wear C length pencil skirts with pantyhose, a nice blouse, and 2-3 inch basic heels, and the combo was young and feminine and a little sexy while still being entirely work “appropriate.” It’s a conservative industry, I personally don’t think anyone should show much skin at the office regardless of gender, plus offices are always freezing.

I did as a younger staff, now that I’m older, I would not. No need, and it is a little cringey now that I look back on it.

I’m new to the firm. My third project my manager was very hands off. He’s wants to have a discussion with me about my performance. He did not give me any support to work with; even when I asked! And my direct manager agrees with him, but it was my third week. What to do? I feel like I’m going to say something crazy. Any advice?

I’m at a new agency and there are a couple of things about the culture I’m really struggling with. 1) Nobody has cameras on. Ever. I understand not having them on occasionally. But this is the norm1 large and small meetings. 2) No small talk. I understand we are all busy but there’s absolutely no “how was your weekend” discussion. What can I do about this? I’ve been at two agencies and never experienced this. I know I can’t ask people to turn on cameras but I try and set an example myself.

I hate when you ask senior associates a question regarding an assignment they’ve assigned and you receive attitude-reply to the email vaguely without even addressing the email (example: “just complete the assigned, don’t worry about that”). Especially when the question/issue being ask is an important part of the assignment. It almost feels like I’m a bother for asking even though the associate(when assigning) said “feel free to ask any questions you may have while working on the assigned tasks”
