Is it okay to wear polos with logos of prior companies you worked for to work at the Big 4? Does it matter if you're on a client vs at the office?
Attending Appalachian State University for athletic reasons as I played baseball here. Will finish my degree in Supply Chain Management in December. I want to break into consulting in the supply chain and operations sector in NYC. I would love to connect with anyone in Big 4 - Deloitte , KPMG, PwC, EY and MBB to get some insight on the college recruiting cycle coming up. Currently have a 3.81 GPA, family startup company experience, and restaurant industry experience.
Big 4 SCs that moved from US to Canada or any other country, what was your US pay vs ‘new country’ pay Relocating due to visa issues. At 150K USD now, getting ready for a pay cut. What can I expect?
In big 4 consulting firms (MC), what firms are used in benchmarking? Just saw that Goldman is increasing bases for entry hires ~30%, does this signal an upcoming bump?
Hey Googlers. Currently going through the interview process and got there via referral. Im just curious how serious the actual referral is taken when considering someone for a job/interview? For example at B4 a referral just gets you a look at HR and the text of the referral and who it’s from doesn’t matter at all, it’s more of a checking a box exercise to get HRs attention. Is it the same at Google or is it more significant?
Planing on moving to NYC in the next 3 years with my husband. Been looking at potential jobs that I may be interested in for when the time comes and a lot of the ones I’m interested in says “big four experience preferred.” I work for a regional PA firm and wanted to see what everyone’s thoughts are. If I stay at my current job, I’ll be manager by the time I leave for NYC or should I make the jump to B4 soon? Does “B4 preferred” outweigh my chances even if I’m a manager when comes down to it?
Any big 4 🐠 recently ask to start the secondment process to London? Wanting to gauge how receptive the firms are right now
Is the SM role like a junior partner at B4?
Currently preparing for a shift to a startup, where I’ll initially be making less money than I do now in Big 4, but I believe in the mission, the founder, and the vision. Any advice for preparing for the leap?
Got an offer from another B4. What pieces of comp/benefits are actually negotiable? Base, sign-on? And if they won’t negotiate on those two, what else can be discussed? Thanks in advanced!
Where do more boutique firms (like Oliver Wyman, Roland Berger, Huron, zs, slalom) rank in comparison to big 4 or Accenture or ibm? I know mbb is top tier but I feel like everyone else is debatable
Stupid question, want to get into political risk consultant, is that a thing outside of PwC in the big 4? If so what qualifications do you need and what's more utilized, risk analysis or poli sci?
Partners in BIG 4: How is your leadership reacting to location changes requested by partners? My firm is struggling to keep the people back in major cities as partners wants to move to sunny areas with no taxes. I can see both sides of the argument but trying to figure where we are likely to land.
I see a lot of consultants leaving for FAANG. But if the grass is truly more green, what drives some folks from FAANG to move into consulting? Especially a Big 4…
Anyone move from Big 4 to Grant Thornton? Any major differences? Thinking about switching.
🐠 from Accenture Germany: what are the best corporate benefits at the firm? Do you guys offer discounts on Gym membership or have car lease programs? Thanks in advance😊
Alright so there’s a thing called reclaim my status. If you had a reason why you lost status in the last year or two like COVID, baby, new job, etc. You need to submit some basic documentation and they give you that status for 3 months with a DRASTICALLY lower threshold to make the status permanent and even higher tiers are much easier to obtain during those 3 months. Google “reclaim my status Delta”
I was told to give one students “food rewards” when he does what he is supposed to do. I will only do this if others on task gets the same reward. Non-perishable, kid friendly, bite size food ideas?
People who work 50, 60, 70+ hours a week: how do you do that without putting your project over budget? Are your engagements written to have a resource work over 40+hours a week? Are you spending over 10-30 hours a week on added non billable time? What are y’all doing with all of that time?!
Do MBB hire non-nationals to work in emerging-market offices or do they only transfer existing employees? Would be very interested in talking to a Westerner who’s done this. Am US-based now, but with lots of international experience + language skills, thinking of switching things up.
How would you rate IESE MBA (Top3 Euro school in Barcelona) vs US Schools? Asking as a European (German).
Has anyone taken a few years off after having a baby? What was it like getting back into the workforce?
Anyone have any travel recommendations for scenic things to see and do near Auckland? Will be in Auckland for 7 days for a family vacation and planning itinerary for March. Thank you in advance! :)
Hey folks! Hope everyone is safe and sound. Who is working on billable work and who is on the bench ?
What do you do on Monday to get your week set up? I feel like I spend so much time helping my team get their pipelines in shape for the week / setting up a plan.
Has anyone taken Amtrak recently? Im traveling from NY to Providence by NER and want a row to myself. Ill be leaving on Thursday and returning on Tuesday in mid- September. Is it better to reserve a seat in business class or try for coach
Most awkward Uber stories? My uber driver showed me a picture of her baby. Um, it was a doll.
Hello 🐠, what is the base salary range for an experienced Technical Director in consulting @ Deloitte Canada
If you client never turns on their video should you turn on yours? One consultant from our team always turns on video but the client never does
I feel trapped. We work hard, break glass ceilings, put in all the blood, sweat and tears needed to "make it". Usually twice as fast, with a babe on a hip - cooking, running a call. I'm over 50, solo and a parent & over the rat race. I've been putting out feelers and feeling the over 50 burn. I don't need to lead the world - a small piece would be nice, ok money. Fun people, easy roll, smart work, build smart people - cool teams. I get "you'll be bored here - we can't afford you". What2do?
What’s the longest commute you could tolerate? I’ve never had a commute unless you count an internship 7 years ago for two months. I live close to city and I’m looking for new job but to really jump in salary and opportunities I have to look in the city.
My only decent bond that I have with my coworkers is the fact that we talk about points and loyalty programs bonus offerings.
