We are a very small firm. I have had a paralegal working for me for 14 years. She is my longest tenured employee. She is good but by no means a superstar. I have given her a raise and bonus annually. I am trying to figure out at what point I might stop giving her raises. On the one hand, she is a valuable employee. On the other hand, I could probably get someone cheaper who could do the job as well and giving a raise every year because she expects one may be too generous. I appreciate input.

I am offered a role at Infosys. Associate consultant is the profile. It's a techno functional role. CTC offered is 10.3. I am not from a tech background. I have an MBA from tier 3. Total YOE 4.9 years. Is this a good pay for the experience and background?

This has not just been during COVID, but it’s gotten worse. Wondering what others’ typical hours are? I feel I’m drowning in work- I start working around 6:45-7am and continue until about 6 pm- sometimes logging back in later and on weekends/holidays. I make just over 100k. I like the work but feel the hours aren’t commensurate to my salary. Welcome thoughts/advice on this.

Our firm is establishing our target billable %'s at a small public accounting firm. Is there a website that gives target billable time % by staff level for the tax and accounting industry? Just started poking around the AICPA website, but would appreciate being able to save some time looking for it. I'm used to a lower % rate than what's being proposed (70% vs 85%) and don't want to cause undue pressure on staff, but do want to give a reasonable billable hours expectation going forward.

Help! I’ve been doing laser hair removal for about a year now and seen a lot of success - my sessions were 8 weeks apart and I’ve had 5 so far. My most recent one was in October and due to some frustrating scheduling conflicts, I won’t be able to see my technician for my 6th session until February. Will that 4 month gap undo all the progress from the first 5 sessions and put me back at square one?

Been working for a boutique firm a little under a year. Came in as a senior consultant (due to previous types of experience mostly in government). 7.5 YOE, Masters, blah, blah.

Anyway, I came in at 90K. Recently got 3K bonus (split). Around my 6 month mark, recruiters have started reaching out with opportunities ranging from $140K-$170K. Currently interviewing with a few in that range. What a shock to me coming from public sector. I really undersold myself because I didn’t know any better. 💀
