I have my mid-year coming up this week and want to bring up my want for a promotion again. We briefly talked about it about 2 months ago and they were supportive, but how do I bring this up again and tell them I’d like it before end of year? I don’t think Covid will be an issue, we’re up 42% vs. PY and 32% vs. plan.
Instead of a raise, has anyone negotiated for a one year contract of guaranteed job security? Is this even a thing?
Ever been “leapfrogged” for promotion by someone more junior in your own team? Any advice on coping? Not confirmed/announced yet but I’ve heard it from an inside source. I’ve had nothing but positive feedback all year, they knew I wanted a promotion and had made the right noises about getting one when possible, and I didn’t think this colleague was performing significantly better so hurting pretty bad about it... Trying to keep it in perspective of “at least I still have a job” but this sucks. 🙃
Has anyone left consulting for Sales or Business Development? I just finished my first year- I got great great feedback & raise- but I feel I could make more $ and improve happiness in Sales/BD.
Received feedback that I’m not enough of a hardass (google it) with colleagues and clients and that’s going to hinder a promotion. Can I get ahead in consulting being collaborative and approachable?
Offered a 22% bump to switch to a smaller firm in mid tier city. Lateral move (M to M) but high likely hood for promotion in the next cycle. Better WLB. Etc. Thoughts?
What is a the average annual raise for a 3+ year associate who meets billing expectations and does adequate work? (Insurance defense litigation and coverage - large firm)
Hey all, how do you go about getting a raise? I feel like after the covid crisis blows over, I’ll be in a good place to get one (2 years at my agency, work without any excessive oversight, have helped win awards, have helped win pitches, etc) but have no idea how to bring this up or handle that conversation
Is there a typical raise percentage at a year mark? He heard 3-5% from a friend but that seems high to me for a yearly raise. Friend works at a startup, it’s his first full year there and he doesn’t know how much to ask for. He also is also up for promotion around December / January
Did any else see their Marriott nights randomly jump to 80? Went from 42 to 80 today and it just says “promotion”.
I had a WW coworker tell me that all she has to do it “wear short skirts and flirt a little” and male mngmt gives her what she wants. Friday, I got put up for promotion and she got put on a PIP.
Best time to exit to industry to ensure landing a Director role? Currently a M, on track for SM promotion next year. I want to spend more time with my family, not just physically, but also mentally.
What was your first luxury bag? I want to get myself a promotion gift and looking for inspiration:)
I missed a time sheet and a compliance training by 1 day. Both of them are showing up in my compliance profile and this is my promotion year. Did I just screw my chances?
Is it hard to get back into an agency after leaving for a few years to raise kids? Any moms with experience or know of someone that went through the process?
Not cpa related, but if anyone is applying to pwc start internship 2021 and you identify as a minority you can "present yourself as a minority" and a recruiter will refer you to a web page to see if you meet this criteria. Basically it looks like you'll get preferential treatment if you meet the criteria. Firm is really pushing diversity it would seem
I have 15k AA miles (no status). Status & miles are Delta. I need to use the AA miles and am thinking of doing a 1way for 12.5k and Delta for return. Is there a better way to use up these AA miles?
What sort of tech roles could one expect/ target post MBA? I imagine demand for Product Managers wouldn't be too much?
I’m interviewing for a midlevel position at a top NYC agency. They’d ideally like to hire a team, so I’m looking for an AD to partner with. Shoot me your books please! email@example.com
Have any of you seen the new Google "good ideas happen outside the office" ads a ORD? Talk about needing sunglasses inside...
Went back to a bar near clients office to get my jacket back, and overheard the old bartender to the new bartender “don’t worry he lives at Marriott, he will be back”... in Donald’s words “So Sad” 😥
Thoughts on Edelman Seattle? I saw an AE role I’m interested in. I have a couple friends who work in the Chicago office and they enjoy it.
I'm a third year resident and considering getting a dog post-COVID. My colleague has one and it's really helped her deal with stress during this crisis. Wondering if people think that's realistic
How do you know when enough is enough and to throw in the towel? I’ve taught at 5 schools in six years and I’m so exhausted...I love teaching and the kids but the admin and salary and inequity 🤯
I started looking for a change about 3 months ago. Landed a job at a boutique consulting firm; had to pass on KPMG (after 3 rounds of interviews), Deloitte (1 round) (cont.)
Anyone know the President’s coronavirus plan? I know he wants to expedite a vaccine but besides that, are there actionable steps he’s taking to end this?
I am sick of clients who assume I will do dumb shit for them. I am an adult and protect my time, no I will not do something for you that takes 2 button clicks learn to do it yourself.
If you transfer from one firm to another, do everyone a favor and learn your new firm's culture/ways of doing things as quickly as possible. Listen to people, even those below you, on these things. 😡
