Can anyone give perspective on percent raises for a senior 1 to senior 2 (Advisory, specifically DDnA I’m chicago)? What should have been the appropriate % for raise?
Raise your hand if you've been personally victimized by the Effies submission process 🙋🏻♀️
I’m currently making 82K in NYC. Coming up on 5 years of experience and have my manager fighting for my raise. Assuming it happens, is 95-105k crazy to expect?

Know this is mainly USA discussions but for anyone in the U.K., has there been any indication if promotion salaries will be cut? For reference, I’m an senior going to an assistant manager (exam dependent) . I fear that they will cut the starting salaries for assistant managers
I love how strong our talent pool is. I don't love being rated "average". Even though that means on track for promotion, it's annoying.
At EY, does progression happen every non-promotion year or one can be at the same level for multiple years?
Has anyone “over contributed” to their Roth IRA? I got a surprise bonus and raise that put me 140k+ this year, and have already contributed the full 6k. I’m going to see a CPA soon but wondering what the process was for those who have been in this situation
My spouse and I are 27 and with my latest PwC raise will be making 200k base combined. Feeling great about where we are on the road to early retirement!
Curious if anyone has advice if I should look for another job. My boss is a micro manager, not big on WLB, I don’t see an opportunity to independently work on projects ever and there is no path to promotion since it’s a very small team. On the flip side, he’d take me to all exec meetings and it’s been in an incredible learning experience to be in those rooms, listening and knowing where I’m making an impact. He’s been a good coach and thinks highly of me. (Contd.)
usually every 6 mos I dream of quitting. whenever a good offer comes I can never bite the bullet. currently have an offer with 15% raise with a good title and great company. still can't do it...

I recently moved out of my apartment complex 2 weeks ago and ended my lease early because I had to move for work. The leasing office calls me today and said they “forgot” to bill me for a $1200 rent concession I received when I first moved in (First Month free rent promotion). After looking the lease, I found the clause but I really don’t want to pay especially when they made the mistake on not billing me and are just now following up 2 weeks later. Advice? Ideas? Similar situations?
Any thoughts on playing hardball for early promotion? Senior 2 but have gotten 5s three years straight
When interviewing for a job, is it in my benefit to say I was laid off because of COVID or should I pretend as if I’m still employed?
🐠 With a windowed parent - what do you say when a coworker asks about your deceased parent? (e.g. "What does your dad do") The truth can kind of kill conversations, but lying doesn't feel great.
Mckinsey 🐠- saw job posting for “healthcare implementation associate” - part of the post-MBA implementation group hires? I thought everyone, even prospective SMEs (JDs/MDs) come in as generalists?
Has anyone left a senior co role at b4 and moved to a smaller firm as a consultant and regretted it? Pay is better but would rather be doing this at b4?
Hello ladies. Cross posting this - any of your companies hiring for h1b candidates still? Want to stay in consulting. Have Analytics experience and a Masters (Non MBA). Thank you 🙏
Is it bad to continue applying for a role if you consistently get denied? For example, I’ve applied for an Account Supervisor position at LinkedIn a few times and have received automated responses...
Every year I get asked to join a union. I don't think I need to, of course, until I actually need their support. What do you think?
I’m a business analyst in financial services with 1 yr of BA experience and 3 years of overall experience. I’m looking to start applying/ transition to a new company (preferably in tech) spring 2022. BA roles and qualifications really vary across companies. Any recommendations on certain skills that a young BA should definitely have for a competitive resume? I feel that I may lack some tech skills so curious to hear from you all. Thank you!
For Associates in firms with no minimum billable hours requirement and a flat rate fee structure, how many hours are you generally billing on average?
Another point to keep in mind amidst PwC layoffs is we have ~60K global in advisory. Condolences to ya'll who got axed, I'd be just as infuriated. How large are your firms consulting practice?
I have a potential lead at a new firm, primary client is the federal government. Worried that jumping to federal consulting this early in my career will prevent me from moving to commercial work in the future. Has anyone been able to shift from federal work to commercial or is the transition not possible?
How much would you spend on a car if you make 70k a year? 23 y/o, 14k in debt, 75k in investments. Want to retire as early as possible.
Friday is my last day of work and my best friend just got promoted at his company. Any suggestions for a nicer, warm outdoor dinner option in the Union Square or East Village area? We aren’t picky eaters.
