How many therapy sessions do we get?
RECAF - huge potential upside any takers?
Hi All,
I joined Tech Mahindra for 5 days only and didn't find suitable timing for my project and emailed resignation mail to manager and HR. After that HR asked me to resign over portal but at the same time blocked my portal. After requesting many times they didn't unblock my portal and pretended like they want to unblock but there is some issue going on and marked my profile absconded. I have cleared fnf but they are not providing reliving letter but added pf amount also. What to do?

Depends on which team you are part of. I was with the strategy team in PwC India. Traveled occasionally for kick off/final presentation or primary research. The corporate finance team didn't travel Mon -Thu but did travel a lot more than me for client meetings. The tech consulting team stayed at client location for months - they were allowed to travel back home once a fortnight/month depending on budget (definitely not every week like here). So some teams are worse, some teams are better.
PwC1, what was your level and area (advisory, tax etc.)? Also, can you share some insights on salary levels for SA and manger?
OP - Yes lot of them travel on weekly basis...
India and tech consulting and travel : its a shit ... partner books a house 3 bed room for 5 team members .. travel only once in 2 weeks ... in train ... this is a fusion practice
P2 - I was in advisory. I left four years back, so salary details would have definitely changed. Back then, associate-assistant manager (equivalent of EA and SA) were in the 8-12 lpa range while manager was 12-25 lpa range.
P3 is right. PwC has guest houses in major cities in India. Some teams were required to stay in the guest houses, not hotel. I have heard horror stories where sometimes they were asked to share rooms.
Thanks PwC1
P1 - How are clients in India? Are they difficult to work with? How is it different from working in PwC USA? How is work life balance? Do you get to travel with spouses, if on a long term travel? Please throw some light. Eager to know.
Clients aren't too different, some good some painful. But overall not too different an experience from US. People tend to have less respect for personal time, especially if they know you are single, which is kinda discriminatory. For example, my PTO was never respected, was made to cancel twice at the last min even though I gave plenty notice. Work life balance depends very much on which team. Though most managers and partners come with the view that they worked long hours when they were associates, so they expect the same. Travel with spouse - wouldn't know, I didn't have long term travel and my friends in tech consulting were single. Though given how cost conscious the firm is for tech consulting, I doubt they would allow spouses to travel. Happy to answer any other questions. But with the caveat that this was a while ago and things might have changed. Also my comments are based my narrow experience. Might not be true of all teams.
