We offer one but I’m too dumb to understand it. I had s CFP do a financial review for me and he said if I stay at kpmg till 65 and don’t receive any salary increases, it would be worth a couple hundred thousand. While I may not receive any future salary increases, I’m def not staying till 65

5 years till vested. It’s not much and I wouldn’t bank on it for retirement. Pensions benefit partners.

No one has meaningful pensions any more. Better save your nickels

Fuck Deloitte. Not only is our employer 401k match 1.5% but it takes 4years to vest. I'm so done with the nickel and dime-ing. Getting promoted and running.

History repeats from time to time but still greed seems to conquer everyone. We should always stick to fundamentals. Bitcoin , GME , AMC ... let me say it again: in this fake battle between Reddit and hedge funds the only people at loss are the noob investors. Hedge fund money comes from many of our pension and retirement account so if hedge funds loose it is ultimately the common man that suffers.

My salary is 95k, 10% in 401k, save $1500 a month, renting, and single. I feel financially middle class despite being at least in the 80th percentile. Seems really hard to achieve the american dream.

Looking to sever ties with my financial advisor and take matters into my own hand. I’m 27 with 250k cash (flipped a house), 50k in 401k, 30k in brokerage. Medium risk appetite / hoping for FIRE. Recs?

I absolutely hate EY’s Fidelity 401k. Deloitte’s Vanguard answers the phone the moment you call. Meanwhile Fidelity I’ve been on hold for 20min+ and this is every time I call.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but... -Buy used or cheap cars, nobody cares how ~sick~ your car is. Once your net worth is $1M+, buy whatever new car you want -GET YOUR EMPLOYER 401k MATCH -If you are not investing money, you are losing money (2% inflation per year) -Investing is not only for rich people & is not difficult. Google “total stock market index funds” pick a few, buy them every month, and HOLD ON TO THEM -Everything about personal finance can be learned on YouTube
