I'd go as far as to say that pretty much all jobs have better work-life balance in the UK. Here in the US we have pitiful labor laws in comparison to what is offered on the other side of the pond
I have worked in both countries and the best way I can explain it is that in the US, you're a disposable resource. In the UK, you're a person.
I think so, giving more importance to personal life ensures that workers can return to work with the best enthusiasm.
I don't think so, I feel that engineers, wherever we are working, have a very difficult task to keep our personal life as it should be. But that's what we prepare for, isn't it?
No offense, but are you located in the US or UK? We certainly don't struggle with maintaining a good work-life balance here in europe anywhere near as much as in the states
Yeah mate our labor laws are overall better and we're offered more robust worker protection and benefits
For sure, workers over here don't get exploited nearly as much as in the states and some of the practices that are allowed there are straight up illegal here due to worker protections
Yes, completely. I worked in the UK for two years and loved it! Labor laws are so much better and there is more emphasis on a work-life balance. The salaries tend to be a bit lower, but it's made up with free healthcare and just a better overall quality of life.
