[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Yes, need to elect. Should be subsidized right now.

Incorrect. OP can retroactively elect. He should confirm with COBRA administrator whether he has 30 or 60 days to do so. The FFCRA and ARPA made the retro election period very long, but Im not up on it enough to know whether that applies only if invol term/termed during a certain period, or not.
That’s it - thank you!
COBRA is always expensive. But you should be able to claim a subsidy. Also, check your health plan with your current employer and find out when it expires.
That is why I would just check with your health plan administrator and confirm that you will retain health insurance through the premium period. If that is the case, you do not need COBRA.

Under ARPA (not CARES, if you wanted to check), COBRA is free until September 30, 2021.
Is it that restricted!! Shucks

Can you make your last day August 1? I did this for my last lateral (per the office managers recommendation) and that was great to squeeze out more coverage. Also check with the new firm how it works there, sometimes they’ll make your health coverage date back to the first day of the month you started but more commonly it dates back to the day you started. Sometimes doesn’t start till the first full month or on a delay (like Sept 1 or Oct 1).
