Do I need to use accrued vacation days to take a vacation when on the bench?

I can confirm full utilization is what matters and is benchmarked. Anyone who tells you effective is new to the firm or doesn't know their head from their ass

like

U guys r so off-topic. OP didn't ask about utilization at all.

The HR answer is yes though...

Literally the only metric at round tables is Full. You could not be more wrong.

Agree @EY1, it makes sense from a utilization perspective to use vacation time -- but utilization is already through the roof. The vacation time is already accrued, wouldn't be in the red.

like

It's fraud if you don't

No. The EY does not dictate when you are to take your vacation. That said, it is beneficial to your utilization numbers to take vacation instead of an authorized project.

Is your question about taking vacation before it's accrued, so effectively being in the red if you take time off? If so, then EY let's you do that but you'll have to earn your vacay back. If you leave before you earn your vacation days, you owe the firm money. Something like that

Ey1, wrong. Vacation does not affect Full Utilization which is all that matters. Effective utilization is meaningless.

Ey3... where did you hear effective utilization is meaningless? It is the opposite... we are measured on effective, not full. It has been that way for the past two years. Not sure if that changes with LEAD, but it has not been on full for a while now.

Ey3... I will certainly look into that. Definitely not what I recall. I will touch base with my counselor to verify the correct answer and post back. Might be a few days as I am not leaving the beach to check.

Ok. Per PPED... Effective. That said, with LEAD that may change. Who knows exactly what the process will be for FY18.

Your PPED is fucking dead wrong. Its been full for the last 2 years.

I am on 3 round tables. Literally the only thing on the chart is full. No way to even see effective.

Lol it depends on the service line for full vs effective from what I heard

Definitely could be a service line difference. Ultimately, fb is not the place to get the final answer on HR questions. So, OP, vacation will help your effective utilization. Depending on what you find out from YOUR counselor or leadership, that may be of value to you.

So.. my husband and I live across the country from my family, including my young nieces. We haven’t seen them since before COVID and are not seeing anyone inside who is not vaccinated in our life, and this has not been a problem. We made a plan to vacation with my family to see them again this summer. My BIL is refusing to get vaccinated. Everyone else is vaccinated. My parents and sister aren’t happy about it but feel there is nothing they can do.
