Young software engineer here, looking for a (preferably remote) job opportunity. Cut workflow by 50% as Executive Editor, managed end to end creation of several websites as lead web developer for startup, been programming since high school. Recently graduated from college and awarded top graduating CS student by faculty. Anyone able to give me a referral from Apple Microsoft Adobe Google, or know of a job opening with good WLB, benefits and competitive salary? DM me for more info.
I was contacted by an Amazon recruiter for a remote Sr. Program Manager role. I took and passed the assessment and was moved to the hiring manager round which was scheduled for tomorrow. I got an email tonight saying that the Director of the group decided that the person must be in Seattle. I am in Austin, which is not an option. I’m disappointed! The recruiter will let me know if any remote roles come up but in the mean time, does anyone have any remote Amazon roles that they’d refer me to?

Do you need to? No. But it always makes it a lot easier when you know the client (and/or their competitors), they know you, they like you, you’re already doing the kind of work they want you to do in-house etc. If in-house in big tech is your goal (which is a great goal imo) then I’d be trying to switch firms.

M&A
For large tech companies you should be okay if you still plan on doing M&A. Google M&A for example had a bunch of ex-Cleary folks.
Harder since you’re competing with all the folks with ECVC or public company general corporate experience, but not impossible.
