... yes.
Yes, it’s definitely a less common situation but it never hurts to be more generous in gratitude. Especially when it’s your brother’s partner.
Yes. I had a similar thing happen. Just send a note thanking them for coming and for helping set up. Thanks aren’t exclusive to tangible items.

Yes but very weird about no gift
(Not complaining, we had a great time and there were plenty of people there)

You need to send thank you's for showers?
For gifts, obviously, and for someone who gifted their time it’s just the right thing to do.
I’m honestly shocked how many people said yes. I’ve never sent a thank you card to someone because they helped me with something for an hour or two. Is this standard or just bc you’re already sending everyone from the shower who gave a gift a thank you note?
I generally don’t send thank yous if a friend helps me for an hour or two, but there is something about “helps for an hour or two setting up a party for the specific purpose of showering you with gifts” that makes it feel like the graciousness of a good thank you note is needed.
Stil deserves a thank you. Gift or no gift.
