can any explain the advantages/disadvantages of doing a lump sum pension payout rather than waiting till retirement? I no longer work for the company so does my pension not grow so getting lump sum is better to move to an IRA? thanks in advance!

I went through two rounds of interviews for
a job that the posting stated $36.66 per
hour (FP&A Analyst)…the company
recruiter had told me in the initial call the
pay could be 32-36 because of the other
benefits. If I do get a job offer what range
should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.

Is it a red flag as a candidate to ask if a company offers maternity leave? I was recently laid off, so I wasn't expecting to lose my job. We're planning on trying for a baby in the next year or so, so it's really important to me that my next job offers paid maternity leave.

The issue is that it's so rarely advertised on company web sites, but ultimately better maternity leave would sway my decision for a job. Is there a way to ask this tactfully? Or without raising red flags?

After John Oliver's statement on access to mental health services, I'm curious to see others' takes. Is our mental healthcare system broken? Is it inaccessible? With so many digital counseling services and the breaking down of -some- stigmas around mental health, I feel like we have done better. People just need to make the decision to seek help.

Have you interviewed for a job where you haven’t even spoken to the recruiter? At this company I’ve dealt with the interview scheduler, hiring manager and even a panel for my second interview with the director and another senior manager…but no recruiter.

My partner did work for another org (at her boss’ guidance because the two orgs collaborate) and received a small payment (again with her boss’ knowledge). Now we discover she shouldn’t be paid by someone who isn’t her sponsoring employer, and don’t know what to do
