In certain pockets of market, yes. LEK for PE work, ATK for certain ops cases (esp. procurement/sourcing).

I think there is definitely a higher degree of prestige associated with ATK, not sure about LEK

Definitely more prestigious than the big 4. Just look at LinkedIn and see what MBAs they send their consultants to. Only big 4 service lines maybe on par are Deloitte S&O and EY QAS

Does LEK pretty much guarantee a move into PE?

No^

Hi, all! I am currently in the process of switching firms. I’m at another big 4 in financial services. My new role has sent out a survey for market team preference between Financial Services and Products & Services (tech, media, telecommunications, consumer markets, etc). In terms of work and exit ops, which would you choose and why? Thank you!

Currently a PhD at a M7. Veteran, and obviously used to be at EY. Currently in qualifying phase and starting to looking to post-PhD life. How do the firms differ in how they treat advanced degrees (ie stick to PhD area or are you a generalist)? How do federal vs commercial practices differ when recruiting advanced degrees? I recognize that there might be a pay differential (pay isn’t important, I don’t want to go back to B4 due to tax/consulting dichotomy), just would be great to be federal.

If you were laid off or fired would you apply for your current job? I was laid off from Big 4 audit in 2016 after working there for 2 years and it was one of the best things to happen to me. 1. It allowed me to reflect and decide what was important in my next career. 2. Losing a job isn’t as frightening as it seems. 3. Accountants have major job security as I got a job offer within 2 weeks. When you’re miserable at work ask yourself would you apply for your current job?

I'm a young analyst in ACN with 1+ year of experience in cloud migrations. I've received a very good job offer by another Big 4 in the same sector and service but with better career growth opportunities. I don't like to work in cloud service and also I don't like the banking sector. For this reason, I requested to be moved in another service in ACN. My manager said ok, but this probably takes several months. Next monday I have to provide a feedback to the other company. What would you do?

It's some serious bullshit how underpaid B4 is. This lie about the name on the resume being reason enough to go underpaid. Y'all deserve more money, regardless of name recognition.

After a few long interview processes, I've learned that prior CPG experience is highly valued when entering any CPG industry (even in low- to mid-level roles). Can someone with experience recruiting in the space help explain the importance of the experience? Alternatively, would love to be able to "spin" my resume to help fill in the gaps that this lack of experience leaves.
