No, the MBA doesn’t care. The institution that you get your MBA from probably cares.
No, but they may care about your ability to write a sensical question
Not really. Most schools allow you to report your highest sitting. A few schools allow you to report your highest splits. as a former student admissions committee member, I generally advise not to retake. A bunch of time studying for 20 point improvement is unlikely the best use of your time.
720 is a very good score and definitely in range for most top schools. How much better do you think you can do? What’s your profile (sad to say but generally more is expected of Indian and other Asian males, for example)? And what schools are you targeting? There are a lot of factors that go into admissions, and the gmat is only one part of the equation.
And to answer your question, most schools will not bump at 2 tries (and likely not at 3 tries, if you can justify it) Most probably will at more than that.
Yes
It depends on the school, some only look at the highest score others ask for all scores. Take a look at what the applications asks for in terms of reporting (not the verification after you get in). I took the GMAT 3 times and was able to report only the best on most apps
@BCG2 what score would you recommend to get in to a top program?
Just finished undergrad, took the GMAT before starting work, got a 720, and know I can do better because there were some issues with the testing the center I wasn’t prepared for.
Not really. Schools admit you for your whole application, and how they believe it predicts your success. GMAT is to check the box and use in the ratings. Otherwise really more of focus area only if your application looks light on, say, analytical ability.
They don’t care anymore. I was a gmat tutor for Veritas for years.
A1 - sorry. There's no cutoff or formula. It really depends on your whole profile (much of which you haven't developed yet)
