Met a CIO of a VC firm for black beauty brands (like my own brand) who was interested in recruiting me as a venture associate - I would directly be working with her and a contracted finance team for due diligence comp analysis etc. after calling her she said they’d want to do a 90 day project before fully hiring me for the role. The thing is its also during the cycle of other jobs like MBB that I was also hoping to apply for. Should I take the 90 day paid project is that common practice in VC?

Is discussing mental illness still taboo and stigmatized? There is all kinds of attention to it now more than when I was growing up (I’m Gen X) and more awareness but I’m not sure how it actually translates in the workplace. Some of my co-workers talk freely about their anxiety/depression and say that their managers know about it as well.
