Manager after 3 years at Accenture Strategy, which I joined out of Uni. Which title am I likely to get if transitioning at MBB?
Starting b-school soon with a tech/engg background and totally new to casing..whats a good place to start learning about case topics?? Like not “how to interview” but what sort of topics and content do MBB cases cover? 🤔
Hi everyone, I need your advice. I've been interviewing with MBB and Tier 2 firms over the past few years. However I was never well prepared for case studies. I now decided to take 6-8 months and seriously prepare for cases/mental math and try them again next year. I currently have Victor Chengs book and few others. What else would you recommend for me? How can i lay out a plan to study? Any source you can recommend free or paid?
Do you think Apple and Amazon fight over who's the first A in FAANG like BCG and Bain over MBB?
Does anyone else find it absolutely hysterical that people group MBB/FAANG/PE/VC for the prestige-oriented folks and they never include BB IB 🤣
Is it realistic to aim for a move to MBB after 1-2 years of experience at a Tier 2 firm (OW/ATK/RB/S&) in the region? How difficult is it to move from Tier 2 to MBB?
HYP grad with summa, MBB, 750+ GMAT, but weak extracurriculars - how likely is one of HSW?
Has anyone ever applied to MBB multiple times before getting accepted? Or is the blacklisting thing real?
Currently a post-MBA returning consultant at MBB. What firms should I target with significant Private Equity Ops groups or value teams? Have to leave after 2 years in consulting because I was sponsored but want to make sure that I understand the point at which I should be reaching out, etc.
Can somebody refer me at MBB, Accenture, EY and PwC? Victim of Deloitte layoff. Would appreciate any and all the help I can get!
MBB Manager total comp breakdown?
Any PE firms particularly known for hiring from MBB? I’ve been doing my own search but looking for more insight
Anyone looking for experienced case partners? My go-to’s have given up (radio silence for pipeline). Interviewed with MBB in undergrad & trying again as a lateral, want to stay fresh. Please DM me if interested & have least 20 cases under belt - thanks & good luck everyone!
What would you all say are the best consulting firms to work at in the federal government space? I’m not sure how many “prestigious” firms (like MBB) have a significant federal practice at all.
Wharton EMBA worth it? Late career starter so limited white collar experience but interesting background/past life. Also have kids to support so can’t do a full time program. Want the MBA for career boost ($), as an entry to faang/MBB and to have more security for future opportunities. Worth it? Does the EMBA have the same faang/MBB recruitment access and weight as full time?
If you leave T2 to join MBB, would it be seen negatively by your old firm (if you ever need the alum network) or am I overthinking this
Kellogg (no money) vs. Darden (50% scholarship). At a boutique consulting firm now and trying to move to MBB. Which do I choose? I love both schools.
How did you guys negotiate a sign on bonus?
Do you find companies today interview without empathy, over-valuing technical skill, pressure tests, and first impressions? A follow-up to this, if you’ve been hired by a company based on your skills, ability to perform under pressure, and first impression- did you feel you made the right decision once settled in your role? I’m analyzing the evolution of interviews and a human-centered approach.
Have you ever seen one of the nicest, most talented, hardest working people get fired for no good reason. Really breaks my heart about how heartless this industry can be ☹️
Failed to advance beyond second interview. Do I have to wait 6-12 months to try again for other roles, or similar roles on other teams?
Recruiter doesn't respond back for feedback on why I didn't make it after final round interview when his email mentioned that they are happy to provide feedback. After following up twice, any idea on how I could have the feedback?
Is ZS’ recruiting process always so disjointed? I get 1-2 calls a year that always go nowhere because my current salary is too high (it’s really not).
I heard ZS gives COLA for SFO office location. Is that taxable or non taxable in general? And will it be on top of base salary?
I need to talk with a teacher about inappropriate behavior some parents are complaining that she has in the classroom. How do I approach this without accusing her or making her feel ambushed?
Has anyone who is transition into data science, got an interview call based only on POC's?
Currently on parental leave. As a father I’m so dang thankful my firm has it and I can’t imagine how my immigrant parents manage to raise two kids without leave.
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
I’ve been hanging with a coworker and their significant other a lot lately and I’m starting to get a crush on my coworker’s partner...and I think it might be mutual bc there’s a slight sensual tension whenever it’s just the two of us talking I left out gender on purpose just in case my coworker is on here lmao
Just had a performance review with my SM while drinking Jack and Cokes in the Delta lounge... As God intended it to be.
Worked hard, won business and asked for a raise - got 10%. Now closer to median salary for my YOE. But it’s not in effect until my first year anniversary which is 2-3 months away. Should I accept the raise or negotiate?
See a lot of comp posts from consultants - have any of you considered enterprise technology sales? Certainly a different job that requires different knowledge/skills but I see parallels/ think a consultant could do well in sales if they’re okay with a lot of rejection. The pay seems similar (my OTE is about 400k; 8 YoE, individual contributor) but I imagine the hours are better and it can be fun if you like solving customer problems, to challenge customers, and building relationships
I got a $8,000 raise for year end and promotion, and no bonus. I just got written offer from other big 4 for 40k more then I am making at Deloitte.
Can anyone share what WLB is like at Amazon and LinkedIn? Interviewing for roles at both companies, both are Product Marketing. From what I have seen so far WLB looks like it would be better at LinkedIn.
