Do more people here contribute to Roth or Traditional 401k?

Argued with another EA today who tried to tell me a Roth IRA is a waste, that a 401k is all that's necessary... Wouldn't accept that they are two different retirement options and equates to more money

I've seen various threads where people (some big 4?) have referred to their companies' pensions. Can someone explain this to me? Why would anyone in this day and age offer pensions (versus 401k etc)?
