Do most people here get the opportunity to work from home when not traveling? I’m thinking about jumping but don’t want to lose this perk if it’s not common place.

Always at home if not traveling though admittedly I should make a better effort to go to the office more than twice per year.

like

You go 2x more than me! Of course I live in a different state than where my home office is located, too

like

I work at home 2-3 days a week for my local project! It's amazing.

like

Always at home when not traveling because no one from my practice is located in my office. If there were actual teammates or partners to see then I would go in 1-2x a month.

like

Been at 4 firms. Not common. Depends on the engagement, the team, your role, and honestly how smooth you are at finessing it.

like

I wouldn’t say it’s common place..

I typically do. In my opinion it really depends on what practice and team you’re on though

Lol local project but they make me commute 4 hours a day

It’s project based

My SLHE allows it if you request not to travel on retain day(s)

Work from home primarily. Travel to client about once a quarter. Did not work one day out of local office. My client is out of my GR though. Beyond blessed 🙏🏻

Home office...

Always at the office even when not traveling. Wish I had the regular WFH routine perk

Definitely based on the project. I’ve had projects where the entire team wasn’t based in my city and there was simply no need to go into the office

Yeah I WFH every Friday as do most people in my practice unless there’s something worth going into the office for. Trying to get workspace in the office on Fridays is a mess since that’s when all the big events are so the general sentiment is to avoid if you have actual work to do

I currently am in NJ with a NY bar license, working in house for a company headquartered in TX but that has an office in NJ (that I'm "based" out of, but technically I'm fully remote). So most people are WFH for the next few months probably. Does anyone feel like they’re learning the same amount as a junior if things were normal (more hands on, direct interaction, normal production, etc)? Would you consider the 6-12 months of working from home as proper experience to push you to mid level? I want to advance to mid-level (🤑) but also genuinely am concerned that maybe I’m not learning the ins and outs that I normally would as a junior right now.

Hey guys I’m staff2 in audit and will be promoted to senior in June. I would expect around 25-30% raise. Currently 100% remote work & don’t see going back to the office soon. Also, I need to pay 20k bonus back for breaking retention period. I recently got an offer for a valuation consultant position at mid size firm with 15% raise and go to office 3 days a week. Feel like valuation position is more attractive in long term but think getting lowballed extremely. What do you think?
