Do my fellow desi folks cook all meals at home everyday? I spend so much time being in the cycle of planning, buying, cooking and cleaning and get very little time for self care and studying for some self development. What can I do to save me sometime in the kitchen. SO helps with a lot of stuff buts the whole process is still time consuming.

It has an app with tons of recipe options does poori too. I use it for chapatis only
I do.. breakfast I have oats etc. Quick healthy ones. Or a guac cut and sprinkled with salt and pepper. Lunch I eat dinner from last night. I cook every night some dinner. Usually rotimatic rotis and some curry. For curries, I try to get chopped veggies. Indian store has frozen okra etc. Fry it off in 30 minutes with some basic spices of ours. Some days I make rajma or chicken curry. And sometimes the curry lasts for one lunch and two dinners. We are a couple. Husband does dishes.
Would love to hear more tips on saving time. I tried freezing onion masala etc in the past but it does not taste good.

We cook everyday.. Dinner are usually sabji or rice item.. They suffice as lunch the next day.. Having Rotimatic definitely helps..
For breakfast, I make some sort of batter over the weekend and use that the whole week.. Dosa batter, thalipeth batter, etc.. I've also started doing a lot of different cutlet batters.. We have an air fryer and cutlets are super easy to do in them.. Make a batter over the weekend and by the time I get ready in the morning, air fryer makes some nice hot crispy cutlets..
Groceries are done over the weekend or we get them delivered.. Indian groceries are home delivered..
Both SO and I take care of basic daily cleaning.. Maid comes for deep cleaning once a month..

Only dinners. Lunch is store bought salad. I usually skip breakfast or a quick omelette on weekends.

I cook breakfast every day. Can’t work without a good coffee and breakfast. I cook dinner and eat same next day in lunch or order sometime for a change. Takeouts are big tolls on your health and wallet

I agree, it’s not easy to do everyday. I try to add as much as possible or order food. I usually cook simple daal in the night that only need onion, tomato, ginger garlic paster and spices only. 1-2 times a week I cook vegetables like aloo gobhi, bharta, matar paneer etc. I am kind of use to it now
Family of 4 including 2 teens in school. Breakfast is on the go for all of us. Lunch is a mix of salad, sandwiches, leftovers or frozen stuff from Costco
We make dinner every weeknight. Instant pot, air fryer and ministryofcurry.com have been lifesavers. Eat out on Friday or Saturday. Sunday is usually leftovers to clean out the refrigerator. Wash, rinse, repeat.
