I had one for a while and finally mustered the confidence to ask my assistant what the plan for the empty associate-sized exterior office was. The office was mine by the end of the day. If there’s an office with windows and your assistant has your back, shoot your shot!!

I went in-house during COVID and lost my beautiful associate office/window 😭. I will honestly probably get a sun lamp for the winter. I had an interior office the first year of practice, and moving to a nice office with a window made such a difference.
I also got rid of fluorescent lights (headaches) in my associate office, and I don’t think I can do that easily in my new office. Dreading it. I may have to ask for an accommodation….

I’m 100% willing to pay for it myself!!

i sort of have a window, in that my office has a window to the hallway, and the partner across the hall has a window, which i can sort of see out of, at certain times of day, if she’s working from home….
I do, and it’s hard. I had the choice of sharing a larger office with another associate, or getting my own office that’s smaller and doesn’t have any windows. I chose having my own office but it gets so dark and dreary. It makes me extra enjoy meetings in the other offices just because I bask in the sunlight!
