Any Big 4 people who work in actuary here? What's the work like? If I pass the first 2 exams, do I have a chance of transferring in?
Up for partnership this year @ a big 4, however I have an offer in hand that doubles my Director salary. Should I take the sure thing or risk going through a vote with a recession looming?
I’m trying to hop between big 4 consulting roles. Presently, I’m a life science PhD and MBA hire to EY with 3+ YOE as a Senior consultant/associate. Do I have any shot at manager roles assuming I focus on life science roles? I’m concerned my lack of manager title kills any chance I have of joining another firm as a manager.
Best time to move from Audit into B4 FDD? Recently started as an A1 but looking to make the move within a year or so hopefully
If you are not a partner, do any of the Big 4 have a mandatory retirement age? I have a friend who is working in industry and has been approached by a few firms as he has a very desirable technical skill set. He is in his 50's and doesn't want to make a move unless there is some runway to keep working. He basically could work as long as he wants where he is at. The pay increase would be significant for him to jump to but if he is mandatorily forced out in a few years it might not be worth it.
Dear fellow professionals, hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. I wanted to get your guidance and inputs on one thing - I got an offer in Germany (currently in a Big 4 in USA) . I wanted to check what are your thoughts in this bug move, any helpful tips, inputs, resources if you would like to share. Appreciate your time and inputs. Thanks!!
What are MBB offices like? Are they similar to Big 4 offices? Why have I never seen 'McKinsey' written on a building like I see with Big 4
Wanted to get thoughts on if there was a service line in the Big 4 world that has a work/life balance that doesn't exceed 45 hours of work per week? Or is that blasphemy?
How do I become an MBB employee? Is it possible to gain experience at big 4+ACN and then get referred in??
Hello fellow Freelancers! I’ve just quit my FT job as a senior accountant at a Big 4 accounting firm. My hope is to gain enough freelance work to continue working on my own and enjoy freedoms of being a freelancer. Please send me a message if you are looking for a freelance CPA!

Not sure how consulting firms expect to retain talent out of undergrad if they barely raise pay. Left consulting after 1 year, end of 2nd year and I’m at 180k comp now with friends at D and PWC barely hitting 85. I know seniors at D not even making 100k
What do u tell strangers that u do for a living when u don't want to explain what a big 4 auditor is
Consulting work life balance is simply taking a toll on me! Is it true that industry jobs have more work life balance than a big 4 consulting? I like my work but I am working for long crazy hours and also over the weekends (pay isn’t justified at the same time)
If you were looking to exit Big 4 Consulting, what positions would you be targeting? I have done a little of everything with no specialization (great performance reviews across the board). But now a little unsure of what my skills really are from an employer POV.
A friend of mine is going to a big 4 - his background check is asking for 25 years of employment history. I've never heard of such a thing. Is this legit?
How do you all focus while interviewing, especially when you’re coming up to a final round interview (it’s today). I have not been able to complete anything today.
Looking for recommendations for non-profits to make contributions to. Two causes we want to prioritize - racial equity/racial justice and child hunger. Please recommend!
Fairly new to the whole consulting game and really switched careers to consulting to specifically work at McKinsey (long story there but in short, admire the work they do). Got to last round interviews in 2019 but didn’t close:/ started a job at Accenture, fairly new here but just curious about tips on how to plan to reapply to McKinsey and if a shift like that would even be possible without an MBA?
I used to always want to go to grad school for an MBA but now that I’m working, everything’s clicking and I’m on great projects, with a strong network and have some good years lined up. Continued...
Would taking a 1 year teaching gig at a highschool teaching business and entrepreneurship be a unique differentiator for MBA. Want to do VC and it feels like consulting is a dime a dozen these days
EY 🐠 what’s the approximate salary for a Senior in PI Finance in NYC w/ 2-3 years experience?
As an ADC applying this summer for 2022 start, I haven’t gotten a chance to connect with any L.E.K. Consulting members and I really want to get to know the company better before moving on with my application. Any L.E.K. Consulting fish out there willing to spare a few minutes to chat about their work, the company, the culture etc? Thanks!
My girlfriend is pregnant and is looking for recommendations for good cotton wear during later stages of pregnancy. Any ideas?
I need to get 3,000 PQPs between now and Nov 30 to re-qualify for United 1K. Anyone have any great ideas how to do this - or know of any domestic flights that maximize the PQPs?
I told a former legal intern I could write two recommendation letters for them and realized this morning that I’d missed the deadlines for submission on different days earlier this week. A close neighbor died after a long illness this week and it hit me harder than expected as I’ve been trying to process all of the losses so many people have suffered over the past year and a half. Should I let the former intern know or reach out to the companies and try to submit the letters late first?
Currently in the lateral interview process and have had a few interviews a week. Does anyone else feel drained by this process? The time spent preparing for and attending interviews feels like a second job.
Hi all, I have interview coming up for the “Application Modernization & Innovation” group. Can anyone shed light on what type of work/clients/WLB etc? thanks!
Looking for some advice on job search. I’m planning to exit into Corp Strat in 2021. How might I go about finding companies with good WLB? Is it industry specific (e.g., tech, FI, etc.)? Or will I need to pound the pavement, access my network, and get individual answers by company? Any other tips?
Can anyone speak to hedge fund prop research roles? Good exit coming from T2 consulting after undergrad? What would the growth or exit opportunities from prop research be? Are there opportunities to move into investment roles? TIA!
Hello All, Looking for Hadoop administrator vacancy, have 5 year of experience in Hadoop/Big data administration, Please let me know if you have any openings in your organization. Thanks in advance.
One basic question on long term travel. The income is shown as my income plus whatever I spent as part of deloitte due to travel. Due to this I'll fall in higher tax bracket. So will deloitte pay for that additional tax that Ill end up paying on my actual salary due to higher bracket taxes?
Have an offer for ACCN T&O. I don’t love consulting but am tempted by the offer. I’ve been job searching (non consulting, was hoping for internal talent / people role) for a while but very little success. Should I go ahead to Accenture for a year or so and hope for better luck then?
