I was hired as experience hire in Cyber at the end of 2018 at $72,500. I got my first raise last year to $76,200. Was very salty to learn new campus hires make just as much as me lol. Currently nterviewing with several other companies for a $30k+ raise

I’d imagine they get paid more, but not sure anymore given the economic conditions.

No, this is a trend at Deloitte that has been going on since before the pandemic. It’s also not like it’s just low performers are the ones getting shortchanged, it’s everyone, even high performers.

That's very weird. Most companies use a cohort, and increasing entry level salary entails bumping the whole cohort grid typically

Yeah sadly that’s how it is. Thinking of leaving Deloitte for that reason.

Sometimes but new hires getting paid more than someone who got a raise is a little more rare. I’ve heard now new Accenture analysts are being paid $82.5k and I recently was promoted from $77.5k to $85k

Yep this 100% happens at my firm too.

Is COL a factor? If the same location, that’s a weird approach that I’d imagine could lead to churn

Same location

This happened to most of my peers at KPMG when i joined there out of UG. I managed to get an above average raise to beat them out but most people were not so lucky according to our target %s

I’ve been focusing my after-work efforts on job hunting. Last week a coworker asked me to help her with her resume for a promotion and she needed to turn it in next day. I looked at it and it was a mess. I spent 5 hours on it. I couldn’t job hunt. She wanted to pay me and I said no bc that will sour our friendship. I could have said no to helping anyway. Now she’s like I got a great side money gig for you. My friends need help with their resumes. I’d rather spend time on getting a better job..

Been here almost a year now at L2 and was an manager equivalent before coming here. I feel like I have 0 insight into what I need to be doing to get promoted? I’m getting mostly 1s, but don’t feel like I have actionable “do X and demonstrate Y and then you can be put up for promotion”. Any advice?

Anyone who has/ heard of fbookers who successfully switched roles and gotten a promotion (L3 to L4)? Context I am planning a switch from analyst to data scientist from a non US location to US. However, L4 is needed for this jump (prob due to visa issues). With the current revamp in PSC cycle, I am not sure if I can successfully get promoted by next year and make the jump. To do so, I heard there needs to be 2 EE (for this half and next half). YOE 5, BASE 100K

Hello Everyone, I have 4.3 YOE currently and I was offered Engr II - Full Stack position in VDSI. But after doing some research it seems Engr II is usually for YOE between 2 and 4. Is this correct? Will there be a problem for me if I take up this position with my YOE? Since I am a lateral entry, I think promotion to Engr III also would take a lot of time. Also can you please let me know the current designation hierarchy in VDSI?

Is there a way to bypass the promotion policy of not being able to apply for jobs in 2 or more levels above your current level? Especially, if one joined the company at lowest level with over 8 years experience? Reason was, I took a career break for 6 years and to maximise my chance of getting back into the industry, I applied for a role I was almost guaranteed to get. I had hoped it would be easy to rise in ACN but was met with "you can't be promoted 2 levels above", cont'd in comments

I was recently passed over for a promotion after executing some epic work. I was sad about it, but the issue ultimately made me realize that it’s time for me to move on. Is anyone aware of any open Director or VP comms roles in the gaming or entertainment space?

Have been a L5 PgM at Amazon for one-year and thinking about opportunities to boomerang back at a higher level later on. Concern on going to another FAANG is getting de-leveled/starting over. L5 is nebulous middle management, and it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle.
