I'm hoping for something!!! I have a kid that has accidents frequently and although he's not with just one para throughout his day it's usually on my watch!!! And it's #2 accidents!!! I like coffee cards!!! I rarely go out for coffee unless I have a gift card!!!

Oh Iโm so looking forward to it! I looped with my caseload this year and I have a few that give super clutch gifts. I also have a couple that definitely didnโt ask their parents for a lick of help last year making or getting a present for me and those gifts I cherish the most - the letters, the prized rock they found on their favorite field trip, the smarties they know I love, the drawings of me and Josh Allen (big bill fan over here), and the bear hugs from the kids that tell me they wanted to buy me something but their family couldnโt afford it. I love it all!

Elementary staff get tons of stuff (candy, lotion, candles, cookies, etc etc). Parents are typically very generous. Little kids who love their teacher, principal, secretary, etc need to give a present lol- yay for us!

I usually get between 5-10 gifts of various types, usually candy/cookies, lotion, ornaments, plants, and gift cards ($5-20). My best one in โ20-21 was from a grateful mom who gave me a book and a $20 gift card for Total Wine. They let me keep it!

Some parents and kids will make you happy. I guess it really depends on the kid and their parent. I mean, its always nice to get a holiday gift from a student and their family!
My absolute favorite gifts are the handmade cards with meaningful messages. Recently I have received more Amazon gift cards which are so useful.

On a team where we have 115 kids, I get lots of cute little gifts. Last year, a parent organized a collection from all the parents. With the money they raised each teacher got 5 50 dollar gift card to restaurants in the area. Nicest gift I ever got.
I think it tends to be more elementary and less often in schools where poverty is an issue.
Oh I'm totally looking forward to it! I have a few kids in my class whose parents are great at picking out quality chocolate lol. I look forward to it every year
All I want for Xmas, is for them to give some effort to their own academic success.
Give your gift cards and cookies to the support staff on campus please.

They sure do! Giant Mr. Goodbars are my gift of choice, but I receive a variety of gifts, and because I teach in a Title I school, I am filled with gratitude for whatever I am given!
Do t get that at my school so donโt get hopes up
If it is given in consideration of a grade or any favor it will not be legal. However, with small things without anything or favor in return, then it is discretionary depending on the situation.
I have one student who makes me Christmas ornaments every year I have him (small school so I see him pretty much every other year). I have them on my tree. Cute little wood working things. Mine last year was a wood Christmas bulb that said HO^3. They get my science and math bent so well!
