Joe Biden has received the endorsement of the leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP).
This endorsement makes a lot of sense seeing his planned taxation and spending policies. New running mate candidate, perhaps?

It would be interesting to know how long was the flu pandemic a “problem”. Obviously the flu is still around hundred(s) years later, but at some point people had to finally decide it’s time to stop hiding under a rock and get on with life.
U gonna shut down the economy for normal flu? Some of the new novel anti-virals may have broader use implications going forward.

The only way out of this completely is herd immunity. The fastest way to achieve herd immunity is through vaccination. The slower and dumber way is for unvaccinated to contract covid and either build immunity or die.
The problem remains both natural or bottle based mucosal immunity is transitory. 6-15 months. That said, the Fluvox, and the two new anti-virals trials are promising to close the gaps. Still does nothing for the 3x greater deaths due to corporate driven CVD/metabolic diseases attached to ever expanding average and extreme shifts in BMI.

A lot in this post. Not sure where to start
- do I think it’s over. No, but I think with 5-12 year olds being allowed to get vaccinated we are getting closer.
- never ending argument: I haven’t heard one. Vaccines and masks are smart tools against a virus. I am not sure why they would be laughable to use scientific methods for reducing the spread of the virus
- world will move on: clearly there has been a pretty big issue for the last 18 months. Should have been faster but some people didn’t take it seriously (maybe this poster)
- science and statistics l says we will be fine: there are certain stronger dispositions to death and I like seeing my grandparents so really there is nothing smart or good about this statement especially when there are simple methods to get us back to normal faster (which you think is laughable)
I don’t think you are trying to change people’s minds but I do take you for a Packers fan.

How do you define “over”? I an adult who is vaxxed and would like my city to remove mask mandates. I personally am over it.

The mask mandates are a joke. No one is really enforcing them at least in Chicago. You are asked to put them on when you walk in a restaurant but no one is saying anything once you get inside or when you leave if you don’t put it on. People don’t wear it over their nose most of the time, etc. just get rid of the mandates. If you’re vaccinated you should be fine and if you’re not that’s a choice that may have a deadly consequence but that’s on you. Update insurance to vastly increase premiums for those that don’t get vaccinated or remove coverage for unvaccinated Covid related issues. And continue to have mandates for work to get vaccinated. People can choose if they want to get it or not but there may be big consequences for not. Only exceptions should be if you medically can’t take it and no religious exceptions.
For this round I think it is largely over. Stadiums filled, airports packed, etc. Will we get to zero covid outcome? Never.
The only way it stays around as an issue is if politicians see it as a viable campaign item helped along by cable infotainment (formerly news outlets) needing to fill a content hole.
I'm more curious for the next round when the Rho (or whatever) variant shows up, or when a new virus (Covid, SARS, MERS) shows up. Will we do the lock down mode all over again, or will we be OK with acceptable losses at the margins.
We are close. Once the pills to treat active COVID are widely released we can call it a wrap. Until then, I still welcome a bit of caution.

In about a month, once kids can get the vaccine, it’s over. Making this an issue any longer and imposing mask mandates won’t end well for democrats. Most people have moved on. This is coming from a Democrat. See Tuesday’s election results if you want evidence.

Also a Dem and also agree

For all practical purposes, it is over. People have accepted it as a part of life now. We’re moving on.
Saying Republicans won’t move on is hilarious

Or you can pretend the fatality count skews heavily males over 50 and females over 75. Just like CVD risks. And BMI over 30 with extreme risks as it rises above 35. Remember CVD/metabolic disease deaths run 3x to 3.5x more daily than c19. We are all paid to pretend the risk is not there.
Who is making this an issue....hmmm
He’s an idiot. I think this is actually pretty cool of big bird.
- Time will tell on the number of parents who decide to vaccinate their kids. I’m sure a mandate will follow when the numbers don’t align.
- Do you consume any form of news? Left or right we will push and pull until there is nothing left.
- Smart tools yes. But at what point do people’s fears of others not falling into line of the process become the actual problem? You are safe if vaccinated, move on.
- Nothing smart about science or statistics? They both seem to be the narrative on one side so why are they not applicable holistically?
I love my grandparents too, seeing them for the holidays. I also cheer for the Vikings so all’s I know is pain.
Believing either FB or AP is the equivalent of believing your firms advise or audits are truthful, Evergrande much…. Because it can be both/neither at the same time. Evolutionary examples and models of both directions exist. (It’s complicated for sure.)

I agree it’s time to move on. Continue mandates for jobs and school once kids have had a chance to get it. Otherwise let’s move on and pull off the masks. Just tell us when we need to get the next shot. People can get it or not but if they don’t they risk dying, their job, and frankly costs as insurance shouldn’t have to cover Covid costs if unvaccinated. Life needs to resume and wearing a mask for all of 5 seconds while I walk to a table and then no one enforcing it past that does absolutely nothing. Hell create the vaccine passport I’m completely fine with that and if you aren’t vaccinated you aren’t welcome in society except grocery stores, pharmacies and medical facilities
A little thing called science, eh?
We have effective vaccines available to anyone who wants one. To me, the goal was never that we would never have another case of COVID ever. It’s about reducing the risk of severe cases and of death. The vaccines seem to do this well. We should be able to move on with life.
Dem here and tired of all of this.
