I think it’s become less popular because the kids who don’t like beer now drink white claws and such
This is a good point. A lot of places had white claws but no cider. How disappointing :(
It’s regional

Big-time cider drinker here. With young kids, we rarely go out these days, but off the top of my head every place we've been to in the past few years in NoVA has had cider either on tap or in bottles.

Had to come back to comment that my husband surprised me with cider this evening for our at home happy hour.
Its hangover juice
Some awesome ciders around. It helps in DC that ANXO is local so that might be a reason you see it so frequently.
Lost Boys too 🤩
Lots of cider places in VA. Saw it everywhere living in DC. Dramatically less so elsewhere.

I really like cider as a mixer for my whisky
Okay so I guess other regions have never tried a nice and refreshing glass of cider. This might be a new business venture for me lol
Cider is pretty common in the midwest, possibly because Michigan grows tons of apples. Chicago has a few cider-centric bars with big cider menus.
I guess cider may be big in the pacific northwest too because Washington grows so many apples.
