Titles are tough because it depends on the org, however in most cases yes, a product designer will make more because they touch more aspects of the product and are concerned with not just what it looks like, but how it works. They are more multidisciplinary.

Product and UX designers definitely get paid more than visual designers. I wish I’d known that sooner. The mid-level UX designers at my last agency easily made 10-20k more than the VDs at the same level.

I’m at a stage (jr) where I’m figuring what type of "designer" i want to be and feel like i have to choose between two paths. I’m more drawn to visual design but also value $$$ (mostly to pay student loans quickly). Curious if the assumption is even real and what the difference is. Curious to hear from anyone’s experience or any advice!

Yup

Yes AND a UX whose strength is VizD is extremely valuable because many UX designers are coming from engineering or UX bootcamps and trust me neither background makes for high quality visual skills. We just hired a few new designers and it was annoying to see how limited the candidates’ skills were.

I want to have double titles at the top of my slides - one which is the short description (eg. "Company Overview" or "Q4 Projections") and a longer sentence-style title (eg. "Here's the 'so-what.' Our new product sucks, and that's why no one is buying it. ") How can I have two title cases in the template, in the slide master? I tried using a Footer + Title. I want both to be placeholders (“click to add title”)

I'm applying to be a full-timer in a company I'm contracting in, with my design director's endorsement. But ultimately it will be the HRs decision.

I need to make a portfolio deck of the work I've done for the past few months. Do you think it will be too much if I create a web page within my own website with a password? I want to make an impression but I'll keep the design clean and simple. But if a web page is too show-offy maybe I'll just stick with a deck.
