I was put into PIP in my first company. I believed my manager said that it's only for improvement. I signed it. Later realized it's a termination plan. So I quit the company. But after 5 years I got a call from my First company HR for another role, I was happy to take that opportunity. But later HR called me and said they couldn't proceed for some reason. The reason behind this is that I applied for a different job (SC) before the summer but didn’t get it, now they ask if I want to go into this role and they want to secure it soon. I’ve just went through a very tough interview process at a top BB - the hiring MD wants to call me tomorrow. Is this a good sign?

Additionally, I’m also recruiting for a top PE shop. If given the chance, I’d perhaps take the PE offer, but am afraid that if I receive an offer from the BB, it may expire before I finish the process at the PE shop.

Full round of interviews completed. No major pay hike but still happy to switch. However for 3 weeks it’s been radio silence. Wrote to recruiter two weeks ago and recruiter said they were interviewing other candidates and there’s no result yet. Should I; a) write to HM directly and inquire? b) write to HM and ask to be considered for other roles he had that I was a potential with? c) sit tight?
