Are google interview evaluations standardized internationally enough for the advice I get from friends who are googlers in Europe to be relevant for me interviewing for roles in Mountain View? Or do different countries and offices look for different things?
If I have not gotten an interview from a school at this point for Round 2 (Stanford, Haas) is that a definite indicator of a rejection or waitlist? Nobody gets in without an interview, right?
Is anyone from McKinsey willing to answer a few questions about the interview process? Applied to a few roles. Wanted to find out if there is a way to increase the odds of getting an interview.
Say there are two candidates, Candidate A has a 6/10 resume and candidate B has a 9/10 resume. If Candidate A has a referral at MBB, are they more likely to get an interview than candidate B? Or will they be about the same?
Anyone ever worked at an FQHC or audited one before? Have an interview with one next week, wondering what the general viewpoint is on them and if I should run away or not?
Interviewing with a company I’m excited about and they requested to have the next level (I believe final level) be pushed to the second week of January since they’re team is overwhelmed. I agreed and suggested times and am waiting to hear back. Meanwhile I had another company reach out this past week for a role I’m less excited over. They’ve already reached out for my final interview round this week. I already disclosed that I’m waiting to hear from a company I’ve been interviewing with. Cont’d.
I'd love to hear about what people are doing to stand out in providing feedback for candidates who made it to the final interview stage but did not make the offer.
Contemplating a move to Chicago but can't go till December due to husbands job. Thoughts on agencies letting me proactively interview or do I have to wait till Dec for a position to open?
Got to final round at McKinsey in January this year, didn't get an offer but got added to the Keep in Touch list, and the recruiter said I got good feedback but to wait a year before applying again. I started at Deloitte in October; if I decide to go for McKinsey again, is it weird to reach out again in January next year (having only worked for a few months at my current job), or should I go for it?
Has anyone taken a technical phone interview at Apple for data engineer position? What should I expect and prepare on? Is it mandatory to share my video camera or is it okay to leave it turned off?
Have an in-person interview with Slalom next week for a consultant position, I’ll be interviewed by 2 different consultants for 45 minutes each. Any tips from Slalom folks? Are these behavioral?

What are some possible reasons you’re not chosen for a job? I feel that I performed well in the interviews and still got cut. I have no idea why
3rd year analyst here applying to diff jobs. Should I include internships or only my FT experience? If my internship is in a non finance role, and I’m applying non finance, should I include?
What are your success stories about succession planning? I was hired as a lateral to work on/help sustain a retiring partner's book of business. During my interview in 2017, he said his target retirement would be 2019-2021. Now, after a good 2020 (for our practice area), he mused that he might not retire until 2025. I don't want him to feel pushed out, and have a lot to learn from him, but I do want to help/plan handoff of work. Interested in guidance for how to have these conversations!
Would you ever let your firm/company know that you are looking to leave before you give your two weeks notice? Here’s my conundrum, I have a great relationship with my boss, company, and upper management. I’m planning to switch jobs so I can relocate closer to family. I have some interviews coming up, and already have an offer in hand, so leaving is a foregone conclusion. My boss is going to be blindsided when I tell them I’m leaving - I can’t overstate how great our relationship is. Thoughts?
Advice on switching practice areas: I have an interview tomorrow for a litigation firm. I am in my second year of practice as a transactional real estate attorney. I find that work unfulfilling and I really miss researching/drafting.Prior to practicing, I had a clerkship and did litigation work as an intern throughout law school. I don’t think I’m that far removed from that litigation exposure to warrant them not giving me a job, but I just want to make sure I frame it in the best way possible.
A partner submitted my resume to her firm’s recruiting department and I got called in for an interview. I’m researching the interviewers and one is the hiring attorney. Is that a good sign or routine? (I haven’t worked in big law to know.)
I mentioned during the interview process that I had a young daughter and the conversation immediately went to “you saw this position requires 25% travel, right?” I should’ve never said anything. 😔
Anyone here who made the exit from Big 4/MBB consulting to a VC? If so, I’d love to hear about how the experience is so far. (Not to mention the WLB and comp!) I’m considering a career change but have no one in my network I can go to for insights. Thx! 🙏🏾
I want to go from Tech Consulting to Commercial Law (UK). I know that I need to apply for Vacation Schemes, or try my luck with a Training Contract. Any advice would be much appreciated!
What are the packages like at PwC if you are laid off. Is it 2 weeks per year? Negotiable? If you are getting laid off in the next few weeks do you get your bonus?
What percentage increase would you need to leave public accounting for a position at the same level (example: Manager to Manager) in industry? And as follow-up, if your public accounting firm then came back and matched the offer, would you stay or would you go? Looking for some other perspectives and consideration as a decision could be looking myself.
MBB/LEK or IB? An important factor is that I want to end up in NYC - born and raised wi to a SO and don’t plan to leave anytime soon. I have read the MBB/LEK competition in NYC is fierce… how true is this?
Hey mommas - My baby is 14 weeks old and I haven't gotten my period back yet. I'm worried I'm pregnant again. When did you get your period back? For context, I'm breastfeeding but not exclusively (I am pumping and nursing as much as I can though). I've been on the pill since 6 weeks and my husband used condoms for the first few weeks once we started again. Surprisingly, I can't find anything online that's helpful. Any sense of a timeframe would be tremendously anxiety-reducing!
What are the best reasons to go full-time after freelancing? I started freelancing a month ago after I was laid off thinking it would just be temporary but I’m really enjoying it so far. My stress levels are lower and the money is better. I have a few full time opportunities in the mix and I’m trying to gauge if I should go back to full-time or stick with freelance. For those who have taken a full time gig after a successful freelance run, what did you base your decision on?
In 2020 I was diagnosed with epilepsy. I have a number of seizures a day but don’t knowwhen I’m having them (EEG detected it). I started on meds and am feeling much better, however the only way to know if meds are 100% working is to go to hospital for 3 day EEG. I’m supposed to try to live my daily life as much as possible during EEG so I need to work. But can’t do zoom calls. I hadn’t planned on disclosing my diagnosis to my boss but now feel like I’m backed in a corner here. (Cont in comments)
I’ve gained 20 lbs since COVID started. Don’t think I can fit in any of my pre-COVID work pants. Anyone else in the same boat?
Was anyone on the GPS C&M call today? What did you think about Sundhar’s responses on the very pointed H1b questions?!
How is CSX as a client at Nagarro?
Moms, I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old. Everyone on my family is vaccinated. What are safe activities to do with these kiddos in the midst of all this covid variant environment. I thought about the pumpkin patch, hiking, the park, and walks as long as we distance from others. I just get nervous about catching colds or a breakthrough covid infection. I’m not paranoid, just risk averse. The whole family got the TSV bug a month ago, and it was miserable. Just trying to be practical, but not a
Can ayone please guide me on pros and cons of pursuing online MBA? Any help is much appreciated. I have no idea!
I'm a first year atty. I make $45K at a small firm of 5. In the last three weeks, my assistant has been fired (caught with pot on break), another paralegal quit, and now another assistant has resigned. I have a caseload of 80, with no help. Boss says they are looking, they made an offer, but if that person accepts, it will be weeks before they are ready. I'm falling apart and crying at my desk and can't sleep. Told owner. "Hang in there." Do I walk now? Or hang in there?
