I have been in my current position for 5 yrs with minimal pay increases despite consistent praise from management for being one of the strongest in our department. I hold specialty certifications, staff in ICU and ED, am part of several hospital committees, and regularly perform formulary reviews/MUEs/guideline updates. I recently found out that a new hire with no experience was brought in at a higher hourly rate than myself and several other female staff. Suggestions on steps to take with mgmt?

I have regularly scheduled skip level meetings with upper management. These meetings have been very unstructured and not super beneficial to me as I feel I would be stabbing my manager and director in the back if I say anything negative and don't have many common interests with my VP's to just have small talk. If you have these, what sort of structure have you seen them take so they are beneficial? I do appreciate the effort and time of the VP's but I want to make it worthwhile.
