Do the most successful CPAs stay in public or leave? I get the feeling high performers leave early from PA ( usually as senior). How true is this? Is it because of their confidence? Or something else? Your thoughts?

Anyone also looking into greentech SPACS?

I've taken small positions (<$500 total) in these pre-LOI SPACs. In order of the size of my positions: BOAC, PDAC, SNPR, SOAC.

BOAC - Very bullish given the experience from Shell Capital, McKinsey and various U.S. utilities

PDAC: Management team has lots of energy and banking experience

SNPR: already had a successful merger with HYLN and purportedly has other candidates waiting.

SOAC: impressive utilities and consulting experience

Starting at Bain out of undergrad in a month.

Plan to recruit for PE and maybe GE.

Anything I need to do? Currently thinking:

do a PEG rotation after 6 months on the job, do it for 6 months ( 1 year if I don’t hate it). Learn to paper LBO, take a modeling course for real LBOs.

Anything else? Do consultants recruit in their second year of the AC program (compared to bankers’ first year recruiting)? Do I need to network like for undergrad roles?

Interested to know average salaries of an Assistant Manager in Purchasing (London based).
I was promoted from Supervisor to Assistant Manager within the last month, prior to my previous manager being replaced. This is my second promotion in just under a year at the company. Based on the salary I feel undervalued and demotivated (I’m on just over £30k and have 3 direct reports in a team of 12), particularly as my efforts to negotiate my salary were shot down. Any advice would be welcomed.

Senior audit associate here… I am looking for help in ideas to motivate the staff to perform better. Most of our staff appear to be treating their work as a mindless job and not a career. Most of them don’t appear to want to put into the effort to truly understand what they are working on and try to get better. This ends up in continued poor performance and the majority of work falling on the seniors/managers. Hoping to find some ideas from others to help turn this around! Thanks.
