Do watch stores accept credit cards or do they only accept debit? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just seeing if I can get some points.

Credit card

I’ve always paid with credit. I hear some offer a cash discount, but I’ve never been offered one and I’ve never asked.

Credit Cards and some offer financing if needed.

I have never paid with anything else other than credit cards

Credit, but if you like carrying wads of cash or willing to go through a separate wire transfer you should be able to work out an additional discount.

My AD does a 3% discount for cash typically

Those points always come in handy after that call from the AD.

I was at Tourneau years ago buying a Rolex and the guy asked cash or credit. I paid with my Amex but I asked “do people actually pay cash”? My naïveté was apparent. I wanted the points, but he said people do pay cash, mostly “Russians and Arabs.” I’m not making this up. This was in 2006 though.

You’ve been accepted to an Ivy League 2 year premed program (Harvard, Columbia, UPenn) costing 20k per semester. Currently, you have no student debt, only went to state school for undergrad, and strongly dislike the work you’ve been pigeon-holed into at 2YOE (risk). You have also decided to prob not become a doctor although being interested in the sciences.
Would you still attend the program? Would it help with MBA/other program? Chances of successfully recruiting out if not for u?

Hi, I am on H1B and partipated in an online survey (a few of them last year). I only get to redeem the points for gift cards (no cash transactions) but once the overall redemption crossed $600 previous year, I was asked for ssn to issue a 1099-MISC form (I did confirm with the company). But now I got a 1099-NEC form (non employee compensation) which I believe should not be getting on h1b as it is considered as self employment. Any ideas on how to deal with this?

Say vanity metrics are good, for follower gain what would you set as a goal for month 1? How would you determine what this number ought to be?

Does anyone have any experience with leaving Google then attempting to rejoin after 1 or 2 years? I read online that is mostly about your manager's feedback upon your leave, and that you could sometimes be easily accepted again and sometimes without an interview.

I am particularly concerned as I would only be working for a year and I don't know if that's enough time to get a good enough feedback.

P.s I am starting next month, but I know I might need to leave after a year for a family matter.

Right now, work is slow due to statewide restrictions. There isn't much to do but we're still required to come to the office everyday. I waste around 3 hours daily between commuting and getting ready, on top of the surging gas prices. How do I talk my manager into letting us WFH? It's not like coming to the office does any difference.

Funny story for the bowl… behold, the Faketona. my best friends dad called him saying how he got him an amazing watch for $100. “Where’d you get it?” My friend asks, knowing full well what the answer was likely to be. “A website ending in .cn” his dad replies. My friend had me try it, without us knowing that my wrist is bigger than his, and the only way to get it off is to pull the bottom side of the clasp toward your wrist. One busted finger later and i got it off. Never touching another rep

Not a luxury watch, but I picked up two of these Orient Bambino II’s in cream. I gave one to my best friend as a thank you for helping me get the job I worked at with him for the past two years, as I’ve left and moved on to the next adventure. Figured since we were best friends it be nice to have a watch that symbolizes the time we spent working together. I gotta say I’m absolutely blown away by how nice it feels on my wrist, Orient gives you a lot of watch for $120 lol.
