Currently at IBM where they are looking to start my green card process. Got an offer from D, and they will do my green card after a year.

Current H1B is valid till September 2024. With regards to timeline, is there anything I should consider or should I stick to IBM and get it done now?

Lost sense of maximizing points/mileage value for int’l flights. Why is Detla redeeming so much more for some routes than Chase UR and even other partner airlines? E.g. non-stop economy btw Detroit-Seoul // Delta redeeming 160k on its own route while Chase UR 123k & Korean Air 80k for same route (code share)... I get it all depends on timing but still weird directly using Delta Skymiles on its own Delta route is more expensive than going through other methods....

My H1-B expires on April 2022. My perm is currently in process and they are applying for H1B extension and H4 visa extension for my spouse. The immigration team said that they can apply for an H4 ead as well. Is that possible? My H1b visa started April 2016 on i-94 and and is stamped as start date April 2016. I have only been physically in the US for 5 years and 2 months. I am confused on how can they still file for an EAD? Am I missing something?

Best gay city in America for an expat
I´ve been only to LA and NYC. I really enjoyed the weather and the nature in California, but I felt that the gay community in NYC was much more welcoming and warming (more easy to mingle and vibrant). But I really don´t like the idea of living in NYC due the weather and lack of nature. How about other cities: Miami or Dallas or Houston. The Bay Area is not my cup of tea as well. I have some amazing recomendations about Chicago gay life, but freezing as well.

What holiday party did you get?
Anyone living close to an office, got a holiday party with food and drinks, and the venue started open for them until around midnight. Our remote workers got a one hour party w a DJ and trivia that let you win gift cards. Yeah it was nice to win a gift card but I found it lame in comparison to hanging out with my team in real life.

I have an offer with EY and I am about to join in Aug. EY HR has initiated my BG verification with First Advantage. I have already submitted all my details in the portal. I have a doubt about the criminal search. What all kinds of things will they be checking. I had to remit fine for riding without a helmet in court in 2011, will that be a problem.
