Yes. Even if it’s a 1000 % higher.

Only for flights

Yes, must book flights through contracted TA. Hotels you can get away with booking externally as long as they comply with policy.

Hotel in client city includes hotel and meals but doesn’t have to be coded as alt travel

Yes

D3 so I can book hotel elsewhere?

Yep. Just use the corporate card for hotel bookings

You don’t get to cover hotels or meals for alt travel... transportation and transfer costs (e.g. airfare, cab) only, even if you have “leftover” money

DD2 stop spreading misinformation. It’s either a flight or a hotel - just not both together. There’s a policy document on this. You can ‘alt travel’ and stay in the city you travel to for work - policy coverage includes meals and hotel stay up to the allowed amount.

I just went to the bathroom in the United club lounge before heading to my gate. There was a lady at the sink completely topless boobs all out all over the place and I think she was trying to take a half sponge bath in the sink, like taking wet paper towels and wiping her arm pits. Also no mask on. This is weird, right?

Very specific question - Canadian and European spouse travelling to Canada from Europe. However, spouse’s ETA not approved. Embassy told us all we need is proof of marriage and my citizenship (CDN passport) to travel. Asked embassy about ETA and they said “we don’t have an answer you should be fine”. Anyone with experience dealing with this during COVID? Should we try and fly?

Help! Last minute trip to Hawaii, want to use points. Have about 250k points thru both Chase and Amex (each). Also have Amex Plat. - Chase is running 1.5x points to transfer to Bonvoy right now. - Amex has basically the same deal as Chase - every 2 pts transfer to Bonvoy for 3 pts (am I doing the math right?) - Amex also has $200 FHR/Hotel Collection annual credit for one of the hotels I'm considering - Could also transfer points to Hyatt, but not as good hotel options where I'm headed CONT...

I have always dreamt of living abroad. A few years in Europe, and then APAC. Transfer plans fell through with covid, and I’m pretty sure they will be delayed due to Delta. Turning 25 this month and feel like that dream is getting farther away. I’ve always been ambitious, but as I’m getting older I’ve realized traveling and exploring other cultures is what truly makes me happy and that’s what I want to use my career in tech to fund. I know this is a first world problem, but has anyone done this?

I’m the person who tells people it’s okay to open up at work about mental health issues, and that it’s okay to talk about it. I’m also the person who struggles with mental health but will likely not talk about it at work because of the past experiences I’ve had where colleagues brushed it off and told me to let it go/be better. I just don’t want others to not have anyone to talk to… but maybe it’s really me who doesn’t have anyone to talk to…

Unvaccinated people need to stop with the “but if you’re vaccinated why do you care” argument. Unvaccinated people are akin to drunk drivers. Even if I am sober and wearing my seatbelt, a drunk driver could still cause serious harm to me, my family, and those I care about. An unvaccinated person has a higher likelihood of catching and spreading Covid to others because they are cowards who care only about themselves. You are harming other people.
