Lolla didn’t help, but we were already on our way to tightening.

This is how it works. You’re fully vaccinated. You get Covid. You feel fine but you’re highly infectious and pass the virus on to an anti-vaxxer who will likely have a poor outcome.

Anecdote only but my neighbors went, I talked to them in the hall for 3 minutes, I now am sick and on my way to get tested 😔

Scary, but if you do get it and I hope you don’t, really hope no one does, but I’m not sure lolla would be to blame, unless I misunderstand the cycles... doesn’t it need a days to incubate? I didn’t know it was contagious on day one? Is it?

No. I think the increased positivity testing and emerging data about delta will make the city tighten restrictions again.

Of course.

Two weeks out and thankfully no signs of it being a super spreader event.

Hey everyone! Recent transplant (26 F) who moved here during Covid (family reasons) so still not quite familiar with the areas. I’m currently living in Brentwood but looking to move. I’m considering Marina Del Rey as I want to be a bit closer to the office (in Venice) and the airport for when things open back up/travel resumes. I tried searching here but didn’t see a lot - what is the reputation of Mar Vista (and if possible - how is that different than Brentwood?). All opinions welcome! 🙂

Anyone who had COVID or pretty sure they had COVID, have you noticed any strange symptoms long after the initial sickness? I exhibited all symptoms in late March for ~10 days and recovered. Since then, I’ve had a few weird 1 day fevers and occasional stomach issues, latest in August. Wanted to see if anyone else had similar experiences.

I gained over 25 pounds over lockdown, went for drinks with colleagues for the first time since March 2020, and the very next day I had other colleagues messaging me on teams and dropping remarks about how they are walking a lot these days to drop COVID weight. It might be a coincidence but probably not. Feels like my weight was discussed a lot behind my back as no one else in the group of people that went out had gained weight.

Everyone talking about “re focusing on what matters”, or “putting things in perspective “... I’m a skeptical and believe after this COVID madness is gone, we will all go back to our old selfish self... I love the fact our carbon footprint is much lower now, but again, believe this will be short lived. What do you think?

FTM here and I need to get opinions. I’m back at work remote but in desperate need of childcare. With my husband and I working from home…it’s so crazy trying to manage a 6 month old. So the question is…do you think it’s better to have a nanny or daycare. I want my son to be socialized as much as possible…but then COVID. I am also seeing that nannies are umm kinda pricey too for a long term bid. So just trying to see the general consensus

Usually I try to live in the moment, but other times things come to mind from the past that make my life feel like it could be a soap opera. For example, I crushed on a guy from school for a few years, and one night as a young adult, found us both drunk alone in my apartment. A few months later he texted me and said he just got married at the courthouse and that I should be in the wedding party when covid was over. It shouldve happened by now but it hasnt yet…👀🙂

I hate having to ask this question but I know a stigma exists around it: is it okay to look for/start a new job while trying to plan for a new child? How much experience do you need to be seriously considered for jobs that ask for “5 years” experience? I have 1.5 years of Big 4 experience. Do you typically include the 2-3 years of college (basic bookkeeping) level accounting jobs / internships as experience as well? (Including college part time accounting jobs gets me closer to 4-5 years experience - just not sure if that’s generally viewed as “valid” experience)
