Do y’all ever get forced to send an email by a manager, SM or Partner about something that you just cringe asking the client for. Been staring at this email for 10 min and can’t believe I have to ask this.

I always start those emails by blaming someone else for why I’m asking “After partner review, a few more requests have come up...” 😂

like

I would be careful doing this. I got chewed up for telling the client I needed some support because the manager and partner asked for it. Also, now that I'm further along in my career, I understand it never reflects good on you if you blame somebody else.

What are you asking?

I second GT 1. The first sentence, after the typical kind greeting, should be something explaining that someone reviewed your work and they are the ones requiring the information.

Depends why you’re cringing. Are you nervous to see what will come back, or do you think it’s just dumb to need to get it? If you’re nervous, copy whoever told you to get it. If it’s dumb, try to argue against it , but assuming you’ve done that, just blame them but don’t obviously copy lol.

Crazy ethics issue. Client 1 has VPO against man who later becomes Client 2. This is the 4th VPO this year, previous ones dismissed.

In the meantime, State has filed rape charges against man who becomes Client 2 and A/B charges against Client 1. Client 1 also files for divorce.

Clients reconcile (which is how they both end up clients...) and want VPO dismissed, divorce dismissed, and criminal charges dismissed.

DHS gets involved and want to remove the child from Client 1's custody. (1/2)

I love my job and the people I work with, but there’s one thing that really bothers me: the lack of diversity. Sometimes when I walk into the office and see everyone else around me as the only POC, it feels kind of weird. I don’t think anyone here has ever said anything racist or sexist to me personally, but I don’t feel comfortable talking about these issues with anyone because they might take it personally and then things could get awkward between us.

Job opportunity (mgr title, 4-6 yr exp needed) in Internal Audit (w/ data analytics exposure) at one of the largest private companies in Chicago. I interviewed with them (director and vp) till last round and decided to pursue a different opportunity. Great and caring people who seems to support what you wanna do at this position. Since it’s private there is a lot of room to create and build from the best practice. lmk if you are interested or know someone needs help. Thanks!

Of course, today I heard back from my current company I would be getting a raise after having pay frozen since May. Unless it was a very very very good offer, I’m not sure I see myself leaving anymore. The interview is at 8:30 tomorrow morning - what would you in my position? What do you do with a Staff with ~1 year exp that legit won’t work. For example, you give them a simple task at 10am that should take 3 hours max, they ignore your check-in messages and then ask if they can give it you in the morning. They never ask questions. Morning comes and they still didn’t do it. When they finally do it, it is riddled with errors and clearly shows they didn’t try. Working under tight deadlines, this staff is killing me as I cannot rely on them at all. What would you do?
