I usually write a pleasant holiday card to each of them, thanking them for the past year and looking forward to the new. I can't find it in my budget /time to shop for grown men.

I usually give my boss a small gift ($10, something funny) but I’m not this year as she gives me nothing but a “enjoy your break.” My old boss used to give me a few thousand dollars in cash with the instruction to do something nice for myself.

I used to bake / make good bah but they all travel. So getting baked items to them never took place timely. I gave up and just send Christmas card.

Absolutely not. They make 7 figures. They don't need anything. They get a nice card.

Do they give gifts to you? I always feel uncomfortable receiving gifts if I don’t give one as well.

I like to get something small IF I find something I know they’d love. Chances are - if there is something they want, they’ll probably just buy it for themselves.

I get gifts for my Bday, Christmas and Admin Day I have a pretty good group. I also give gifts too when I can.

I did but stopped when I realized they didn't appreciate me at all after the amount I did for them all year long.

Gift down, not up. A card will do. I always tell the people I support what I end up doing with what they give me, which I think makes them happy. I got an amazon gift card last year and I had been contemplating buying something that was a few hundred bucks, and the gift card made it a no brained, so I thanked my exec and told them how much the gift helped me.

So apparently accenture is making people who are on the bench enroll into a mandatory customer service role even if you’re 100% utilized. Friend took 3 weeks of PTO and has been on the bench for a few days and he is being forced. Worst part? It’s Tues-Saturday.

Had a (Zoom) training today with some fellow junior associates where talked primarily about diversity in our firm. 1 associate (a man) characterized women leaving the firm after starting families as their "independent choices", which I understood to imply that there is nothing wrong with the profession and women leave because they want to focus on families. The group spoke up and rebutted this but it got me thinking - Do partners feel the same? Are partners thinking about (cont.)

Trigger warning: abusive relationship ISO advice on addressing a (very) bad undergrad year due to abuse in personal essay. I’m taking on my MBA as I was laid off due to COVID-19 and the market is tight out there right now. One thing that’s always held me back is that I had a horrible senior year, which killed my otherwise stellar GPA. I was in a dangerous abusive relationship that year and was lucky to even make it out. I did graduate and now, 10 yrs later, I have a strong resume behind me.
