I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

There's a convoluted history to it, Wikipedia has a pretty good article. There are still a few industries and reports that use a single "m" to mean thousands, just to make things really confusing
To be safe use MM or m. Lowercase "m" is not a Roman numeral thus should not be confused with one. Single capital "M" could be confused with Roman numeral for 1000. Only one that can be called out is M unless industry specific.
Single
T trillion
B billion
M million
K thousand
BBB big baller brand yall
Banker here. It’s MM. Thousand thousands. M is just 1000.
Supposedly the “MM” was created to represent a million as a “thousand thousands,” although doesn’t at all explain the “BB,” for a billion.
Thank you BCG1. I had an SM who made a point my to always change my $M to $MM...he was also just an all around ass hole, so it makes sense.
It’s a banking thing. Never understood it. To add to the confusion I’ve never seen Billions abbreviated with more than a single B
Same as BCG1
I’ve seen both. The people who prefer MM tend to be less likeable
I’ve got one two three four five six seven eight mm’s in my Bank account
So is it MBB or MMBB? 🤔
No one is quite sure where the use of mm came from. Historians maintain that the true translation was lost centuries ago.
Thousand already has "K" & "G". Now it wants "M" too?? Greedy.
Single. Would love to know the rationale for double
No one does BB for a billion. People will write Bn or just B in deal pitchdecks. Don’t ask for logic. It’s convention.
I make MultiMillions
Always used MM
I have seen "mm" or "M" but not "MM"
Double MM ever since a fortune 50 ceo said “we only need to invest $100 thousand...awesome, it’s $MM kid”
